New Govee Thermo Hygrometers with Swiss made sensors

Govee has recently introduced a new line of Thermo Hygrometers with Swiss made sensors. They ask me if they sent me these devices, if I would in turn, write and post a review. Of course I said, “Sure.” We have had the same arrangement in the past, and this is my only tie to Govee.

Today I am positing the one with a display. Soon I'll post the ones that don't.

    Model H5101
These are Bluetooth with a range of up to 164 feet. The size is approximately 2 1/16 inches square and ˝ inch thick. They have a LCD display and come with a stand as well as double sided tape. It runs on a CR2450 Button Cell battery.

They connect to the Govee app on your smartphone. There each device is represented by a icon that look like the device.

You can rename each, which gives you a chance to notate where you have each. The temperature and humidity can be calibrated to a tenth of a degree or percent. You can also set a range for the temperature and/or humidity and ask it to alert you if it exceeds the maximum or minimum.

The display shows if it is connected and a scale of the battery life. All the devices come with batteries and a pull tab to activate. They are easy to add to the app. You can look at a graph of the temperature and humidity based on the variation by hour, day, week, month or year. If you really want to geek out, you can export the data.

At one point, I had them in a glass top humidor. Watched the display as I opened it and took one out. The response time seemed quick to me. It you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Govee has a web site but all sales are done through Amazon at http://amzn.to/3pSG6at

***I tried to put in some pictures but am not seeing them on my end. Please let me know if they're not showing and I'll try to remedy it.

Thanks for letting me know. Just tried it a different way. Showing up now I believe, but some are 90 degrees out of rotation. SMH

I see all of the images; both thumbnails and full size.
The full size have proper orientation, a few of the thumbnails do not.

Thanks for the review!! I’ll have to check them out.

Of course, @SoCal gunner probably has something that calls him when a reading is out of range, then it kicks in the humidifier and temp control in that walk-in humidor.

    The prices seem very reasonable!

I am curious on battery life i have been using the xikar purotemp and it works good only 3 sensors can be set up for that and it only goes to the base unit. Works good but I could be convinced to try something different.

I have some that I need to replace the battery. Unfortunately I don't recall when they were last replaced. Haven't seen a spec for it that I can recall.

I ended up with 6 of these 5101 models. I keep two in the desktop for top and bottom humidity readings. 4 more in the finished crawlspace scattered about in different areas. Govee spec calls for 3 months of battery life. I got 5 months out of my first set of batteries. What I didn't like was not receiving accurate notification within the Govee App that the batteries were about to go dead. They went dead (and stopped logging data) while the in app gauge still showed half power. I only noticed the problem when visually seeing a blank screen on one of the crawlspace units. The rest did the same thing after another day or two.

I won't buy more of these. Instead I like the H5102 model that isn't much bigger, but runs on a single AAA battery. If you can afford the space, this seems like a much better solution for the lazy that want to get as much battery life as possible from their units.
