My best guess is to adjust the flame. There is a dial type thing on the bottom of the insert. Turn it towards the + sign. Be sure to purge the lighter between fills.

Yeah I have tried everything. But I will try that again. Thanks

I found that putting the lighter in the freezer for five minutes after purging and before refilling helps.

Nice review, you just inspired me to get this lighter! I hate having to deal with two tools in my pocket as well. This looks like it will get the job done in a classy way.
