Wineador temperature & RH levels
With my latest wineador build I've been attempting to dial in the RH levels I would like at the desired temps I want. When the wineador is unplugged it stays around 72F, and I have no problems maintaining RH at 65-67%. Whenever I set the wineador to 64F (the highest it will go), the RH drops to around 57%. It's good that the system is obeying the physical laws of the universe, but I'd like to increase that level back to around 65%. The computer fan I've placed in the bottom hasn't done a lot to stabilize the humidity at the lower temps. The drain hole is covered with electrical tape, so there hasn't been any fluctuations due to leaks.
I currently have a half-pound of Heartfelt beads in the wineador. Would I be able to raise my RH by increasing the amount of beads or using KL? I've also purchased an external temperature controller since I'd like to keep the temperature closer to 66-68F. I'm in the process of testing that also, and the initial tests have the wineador at around 59 RH during it's cycles.

I think you definitely need more beads. I use about 3 lbs of HF 65% in each of mine. I know that is overkill but I never have to worry about RH. Even when I keep the door open for a long time while hunting for a stick it rebounds very quickly. I have about a pound at the bottom, a pound in the middle and another pound spread out in each drawer. I have never used a fan. I try to rotate the inventory regularly. Both of mine stay rock solid at 65 degrees and 62-63%

I also have close to 3lbs of HF 65% in mine and have very stable RH even after having door open a long time. You cant have too many beads IMHO.

I agree more Beads spread out. right now I am only using 2lbs but want to add another pound to help get it more stable. I have opted to not plug my unit in and I have also opted to not plug the drain hole. I will say that when i have a change in temp my readings tend to get a little wonky be it right when it starts to get cold out for winter or right now as summer is just sticking the tip in us in southern California. My biggest challenge has been finding the perfect spot in the house that maintains a constant-ish temperature. Now in regards to temperature i tend to hover between 68-75f all year

Summer plays "Just the tip" with us here in NC around August when the humidity ramps up.
