Indeed so Most indeededly
And the Wineador project begins
My wine enthusiast 28 bottle cooler showed up today. Pretty happy with how it looks. Was a scratch and dent I bought off amazon delivered for $150 and I can't find a scratch or dent on it.
Now onto the de-stinkification process. Starting with some baking soda and hot water, I'm going to give it a coat inside and let it dry, then wash it out and place some baking soda in a dish in it closed for a few days. Not actually getting much of a smell from it to begin with so I think it'll probably clean up easy. Should I have it plugged in so the electronics get aired out as well while I'm cleaning it?

Not sure about plugged in. Congrats, though

No, I wouldn't plug it in while it has moist baking soda inside.
What you CAN do is after the water+baking soda cycle is put baking soda in some dishes and plug it in. Here in the States they sell baking soda in little cardboard boxes where you can tear off one of the sides and it has a mesh on it. If you have those, just use a couple of those.

Cleaned out the baking soda this afternoon and filled it with newspaper and a bowl of baking soda. Hopefully it'll clear out quick

Did you plug it in? Best case scenario the fans help circulate the stinky air particles into the newspaper and baking soda. The only problem would be if the fans are powerful enough to cause the baking soda to start blowing around inside
I'm not sure if all wineadors have circulation fans or if they are like small refridgerators which don't because the internal volume isn't very large.

Yes once I cleaned the baking soda/water out, I gave it a good wipe down with hot water. Then went over it with a towel to get the water out.
Placed a big bowl full of baking soda in the bottom and crinkled up as much news paper as I could find. I figured if nothing else running it will help circulate the air as you said.

Thermoelectric wine coolers have a fan that blows air across the peltier. They are not strong enough though to create any movement of baking soda on the shelves. Most you can put your hand right in front of and only feel a slight breeze.

Yea it seems just enough to move the air around so I'm hoping having it run will help the newspaper and baking soda remove the smell.
Going to hit a couple stores this weekend to see if I can source some spanish cedar for the drawers and thinking some zebra wood or cocobolo for the fronts.

If you can't find any Spanish Cedar locally you can order from Bristol Valley Hardwoods. I got all mine for my cabinet conversion from them. They have all different widths and will even cut to size before shipping to you.
