Niiiiice!
Thanks. Really looking forward to seeing how it looks with the drawer fronts on, should be here early next week.
Just threw a couple Tupperware containers with sponges and distilled water in to start the seasoning process. 1 in each drawer and 1 on the shelf. Can't wait.
I've decided I'm going to build one more little drawer in the little spot on the left. It'll be a good spot for more humidity control if I find the 1lb HF isn't enough or I want to spread it around a little more. Currently all of the 1lb will be going on the bottom in a "pantyhose" bag. Opinions on this, Should I separate them or just leave them together?
I would have some kind of humidity control in each drawer.
I've split the beads between the top small drawer (in a panty hose bag) and the bottom in a tin pan and will be putting 2 boveda's in each drawer so that should take care of humidity. Here's a couple pics of it now that the drawers have the Padauk fronts on. Was planning on giving them a coat of something for some shine but really like how they look now. I have a silver rimmed analog hygrometer coming that's going to be mounted in the bottom drawer and then a hygroset that will be, most likely, on top of the X shelf. Just to decide what I want for drawer pulls. The wife thinks silver/chrome and I think something dark like a brushed nickel or black... sigh... third world problems right?

Hey Blake, I wouldn't coat the fronts with anything. They look great, and should be ok in the stable environment. Brushed nickel or stainless hdwe (JMO).
I really like your work, especially the "X" shelf. Original work, all yours, and you should be very proud. Now the other reason for my response......I remember when you first joined......I think you had an old pipe, maybe a cob, and an acrylic lock top jaridor for your handful of sticks.....now you're on the Canadian Men's Downhill Team bwaahaahaahaahaa. Drawers & shelves being filled, boxes on order, yeaaaahhhh!!!! You go brother, way to hit that damn slope.
Always been a both feet in kinda guy lol. Thanks
Sometimes I think calling this hobby a "slippery slope" is like saying Godzilla "has bad people skills".
Maybe it should be renamed "the waxed sheer cliff of Cigardom".
:D
