    Just got one of these. Was hoping the online retailer had some of the older Made in USA ones left (he said he thought he did, but wasn't sure of colour.)

    Took my chances and ended up with pine of the newer Quality Import ones.

    Haven't tried it yet.

    If I may butt in, what the Emperor's referring to is using the tobacco cutter to slice off pieces of rope tobacco (leaves compressed by twisting into a rope) for pipe smoking. The slices are called "coins" - they are about the size/shape of a nickel.
