Well it's like teeth so I imagine it would bite down and tear the wrapper and not leave a clean cut.
Like biting off the end of a beef stick versus cutting it with a knife ?

Don't think I ever held myself out to be an expert but I have bitten my fair share. I've never taken a bite from the beef stick of @penna stogey at the Orgy though, despite him offering it up on multiple occasions

Ok, here's a side by side comparison with a Xikar X3 with low miles on it.

The 60 rg cut had the biggest variance- the xikar kinda slid during the cut. Can totally blame it on user error and the fact the xikar is rated as upto 54rg and that this was just a one shot cut. That said, I believe the bite of the serrations helps prevent a slide like that.

Caps maybe a little cleaner with the Xikar?

Close up of the serrations- they aren't that pronounced - before purchase I pictured them being more like two steak knives coming together, but the photo shows otherwise. (Look at the back of the right-side blade)
