Finally broke down and got a pound of HF Beads for the small wineador. The bovedas seemed to take up too much space and were getting to be a hassle. Maybe I'll use those for long term storage in a well sealed container...?

Correct me if I'm wrong but, i always thought the beads would take up more space than the bovedas. Atleast thats been the case in my experience.Quote:

It probably depends more on the size and shape of the humidor. Wineadors usually have some empty space on the bottom that tucking beads into would take less space than bovedas scattered throughout.Quote:

It seems like the beads take up less space, maybe because they are in the little baggies that I bought along with the beads so they are kept in a more compact space. Each bag is probably about the size of two robustos roughly, so I lose the space of 4 sticks. Each boveda is as wide as about 4 robustos roughly and I had 6 or 8 of them in the wineador. Because of their shape etc., they seem to block more space for cigars. The total volume of the beads compared to the bovedas might be very similar, but the wasted space for the bovedas seems to be more than for the beads.Quote:
