Best travel humidors?
I have a trip coming up in a couple months and I want to bring about 10 cigars with me to smoke while there. There will be flying involved. Hoping to get some ideas of everyones favorite travel humi that could handle the quantity I'm looking to bring.

It's not a real hobby unless it interferes with your work.

Bummin' Around
I use the same one they have different sizes to carry 5, 10, 15 cigars. They have ones with a higher count but any higher I wouldn't call it a travel humidor.

i have a herf a dor as well and LOVE it. only down side is when flying you are more than likely going to have a issue opening it once you land. xikar i believe makes a case with a pressure release valve. also i have seen people let a little piece of string or celo hang out so it dose not make a complete seal

I tried to get a bigger picture but work has alot of places blocked, the herf a dors have a notch, if you have trouble opening them after flying just insert a coin, screwdriver etc in between them and twist, will pop right open.

i actually saw someone break a hotel butter knife while trying to do that and have also seen it work as well.

A quarter is a LOT thicker than a hotel butter knife (unless it's one heck of a butter knife!). Use something solid and it works. Also, I have no real grasp of the laws of physics, but twisting seems to get much better results than prying, at least from what I've seen.

A few years ago, the Herfadors were made with a nice ABS plastic with a smooth finish and they sealed very well. At some point, the manufacturing changed to a softer, matte-finish plastic. When that happened, the tolerances changed, the plastic wasn't molded as perfectly, and so they didn't seal as well. I ordered then returned several because of the issue.
No idea if it's fixed now or if they still have issues, but I hang on to my older 5ct and 15ct. The Xikars on the other hand continue to be a well-molded ABS plastic that seems to seal perfectly, I have a recent 10ct that works great.
It's a shame because for whatever reason I much prefer the look of the Otterboxes/Herfadors to the Xikars. Wish I could find an older 10ct Herfador before they changed the plastic.
