Sauna as humidor?

Yeah, the cedar is likely not the right kind. Relining it with the right cedar, though, might make it just awesome.

I use craigslist quite a lot. For both selling and buying. If I respond to an ad and don't get an answer, 9 out of 10 times the item has been sold.
Using a sauna as a humidor does'it make any sense to me. What are you going to do, turn the heat down and throw water on cold rocks? Trying to keep the humidity between 65 and 70 will be a nightmare.
Buy a 1,000 count humidor. That will solve your problem for a few months.

I wouldn't be using it for heat nor is it a older style rock & steam sauna you find at the Y. This is a an enclosed walk-in unit with the tightly sealing door.

I'm not intending to buy it at this point as I finally heard the brand from the CL user and it wasn't what I was looking for.

And...I already have a larger unit. I was looking for the next step. :-)

Yeah, I have a sauna in my basement that we never use. We bought the house 3 years ago, and it's been used once, so my wife suggested I turn it into a walk-in humi. Too bad it's lined with red cedar, cause it won't work. It's connected to our bathroom din the basement. I've thought about stripping the cedar and relining with mahogany or Spanish cedar, but then I think to myself, do I really want the only access to my cigars to be through a bathroom?
