    The salt test

has been in progress all week.

73 percent is all it shows. It's adjustable, should I turn clockwise all the way? Or is this all it will ever read?

Cuba Libre One robusto for me this find cloudy cold winter day.

    Thanks all.

P.S. Is there any need to wrap it up in a damp cloth to see what it reads?

Just turn it to read 75%. Then put it back in the bag and see if it reads 75% after several hours. I've never wrapped one in a damp cloth before. If you do the salt test, you shouldn't have to.

If it is digital without the option to adjust, then you have to make a mental note of "+2" whenever reading it. So if it says 63 then it is really 65.

very top of face I have red button

Immediately on left bottom small button never seen until just now. Adjustable button turns left and right on right side of face.

Guess I need to know what the two button are for on bottom. Thanks.

Brand hydraproset I believe. Really like it. Mounted underneath lid on coolidor. Have three or 4 others but can find. Cigars in tupperware I don't worry about them, haven't checked on their condition in 4 months. They may have broke free and flew off. But I plan to in a few when I have time.

Thought about this in bed, got up and put it in report. Hopefully it may help others. No snack and back to bed.

The red button changes from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Turn button on lower right one click clockwise is 1% higher (your salt test is at 74%) or counterclockwise is 1% lower. Then immediately push button on left with pen and hold until.display changes. That saves change.

Turn the knob on the right two clicks exactly. No more. Then immediately push the button in on the lower left with a pen and hold until the screen blinks. Put back in salt test and it should hit 75%.

I recently had to calibrate a new hygrometer. I bought the Boveda calibration pack -- easier to do because I didn't have to wonder whether I had the right amount of water on the salt.

Tablespoon Salt, Teaspoon Distilled water. Then swirl. 3/1 is the ratio, btw. Whatever ratio you use, just don't oversaturate the salt. All you are doing is creating sodium chloride which in turn only allows 75% of total moisture release as H20 evaporates. You know when you eat too much salt and you get thirsty? Same science at work with salt test. Here's the chart. Look at sodium chloride relative humidity.
