Odor Elimination Help
Your mileage may vary, but I found something that helps get the cigar odor out of the car better than other air fresheners.
I've hung or put in the vent about every smell of air freshener there is in my car. Some help more than others but none made it to when the family got in they wouldn't smell a hint of cigar under a pine tree (or place your own freshener smell here) Last week, I was going to toss a used up Yankee Candle air freshener jar that my wife had. I noticed it looked like little wartersorb beads in there so I salvaged it and filled it with Febreze extra strength. Set it in the car, and didn't think twice. This morning, my wife moved my car so my Daughter could get out. I asked her how bad the smell was. Keep in mind I had put a cigar out right as I got home yesterday and rolled up the windows because of the snow. She says nothing, as in no cigar smell. I ask again to be sure, she says yes, I didn't smell anything why??? I say no reason, just asking.

I have never smoked a cigar in my car. much like cigarettes...I would have thought the smell would never leave. my buddy just bought a 1 year old car and you can tell that a smoker had it before. Even after the dealer did whatever they could to get rid of the odor

Out of all our vehicles I will only smoke in one of them just because of the smell factor. Up until last summer before the wreck, I had an old truck as a daily driver I kept for that very reason.
Now I had no choice to drive something else everyday and no way was I quitting smoking cigars again. Can't say for sure this is 100% foolproof or not yet...but it helps. The BEST IMHO would be an ozone generator. However the downside would be, from what I have read, ozone will speed up the deterioration of fabric.
EDIT: I just got in my car, although the smell is hardly there, there is a faint bit of cigar noticeable and I really had to smell for it. It is nothing like it used to be before that is for sure. It was faint enough my wife didn't notice. So definitely not 100% but definitely an improvement.

I was taught the trick of taking scented dryer sheets and placing them under the seats. Works quite well but now I may have to try the Febreeze.
Don't smoke all that often in my Jeep but it's a lot easier in the winter than the summer. Crank the blower up on high on the foot section, crack the window a little bit and it works just like a chimney.

My wife needed something to hold flowers in for a couple hours, so she ran into a dollar store. She found a little flower bag and it had three packs of water absorbing beads in it. I didn't think at the time to save the clear ones she used and let them dry out, but I did save the green & blue ones. I'm sure it is only color and will work the same. Just need a container.

Allegedly Pureayre (http://www.pureayre.com/) does the trick. I'm about to get some and run and experiment. But if it does not work I will be in big trouble. I tried the fabreeze thing last week, and my wife asked if I had been drinking beer. At least she didn't ask about cigars.
