Looking for input on best Electric Humidors

I’m looking to get an Electric Humidor that holds at least 500 cigars or more. I would like one that isn’t extremely expensive that is good quality or one that it is so cheap that the quality is affected. One that has a pretty good warranty or that you can buy an extended warranty. I understand some peoples views on warranties however this a purchase based on investment meaning I don’t want to have to replace it after a year after purchasing it. I’ve done a search at Costco because they stand by the products they sell if you have issues with the product after purchase but they don’t sell cigar humidors.
I’m not big on YouTub Reviews because the person creating the review can tend to have a non bias opinion because they end up getting compensated monetarily with every video watch etc.
I’ve thought bout Redford Lite but I’m on the fence.
I’d like input on any electric humidors companies that stand by their products/warranties that won’t cost me an arm and a leg..

Welcome to Cigar Bum, @DumpsterPooh . Please give us an introduction over in the New Bums section.

Lots of Bums here have electric humidors, so you should get plenty of info. Me, I'm a plastic bin with bovedas guy.

@DumpsterPooh welcome to CigarBum. I bought my 170 bottle wine cooler 2nd hand at a yard sale about 10 years ago and while the cooling works, it maintains temp and RH without it. I just keep it unplugged in a climate controlled room. But that may be dependent on where you live.

Like Matthew mentioned, please take the time to introduce yourself in the New Bum section. We are a small but friendly bunch.
Enjoy and care for your parents, once they are gone you become an orphan!

What are you wanting electric? Temp? Humidity? Both?
My next question is why the need for electric?
There are many wine fridges that people have used for storage but my understanding is they mostly just control temp. I have used a non working wine fridge in the past for additional storage with no issues. They also make electric humidification that work ok. Can be used in regular humidor or wine fridge. Aristocrat offers Coversion kits to handle humiliation and or humidity for some humidors. Unless your wanting something super fancy a humidor is just a box that hold humidity. I would check marketplace fir a used broken wine fridge and get a good electric humidification system unless where you put it gets too warm for the cigars.

We live in CO so humidity and dry heat fluctuates. Reason I’m looking towards electric is because from my understanding (this advice was given to me by our local Cigar store) it takes less to keep maintained where as lets say a boxed humidor takes more time to maintain.
I want something that’s easy to keep maintained.. because my husband is disabled a lot of the daily household stuff is my responsibility so this would be one more thing to keep maintained. I’m kept pretty busy with my husband’s care, plus errands etc etc so I want a humidor that my husband can throw his cigars in that doesn’t need a whole lot of babysitting and hand holding if that makes sense… i do know any humidor we do purchase whether it’s electric or not electric isn’t completely hands free maintenance.
I really appreciate your suggestion.. I’ve heard of some people taking wine coolers or old beverage fridges and converting them into a cigar humidor but I always wondered if would ruin the cigars later on down the road..
I’ll do a deeper dive into you suggestion! Thanks so much!

I’m assuming you’re referring to what some call a tuppidor?
I’ve seen a couple YouTube videos on Tuppidor’s. Do they work just as well as a humidor? Other than cost, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a Tuppidor?

Depending on size of your collection tupperdors are a great value for your money. Most of us has tried just about everything through the years. Most hygrometer have a temp gauge if your temps stay under low 70s (mine will start to cool around 73-74) then you don't need electricity for cooling. A bit above that should be ok we each have our own set limits.

If you dont need electric for cooling then we need to explore how large you want to go. I will admit when you have multiple humidors it is a pain to keep them all properly maintained even when using beads or boveda. I used a combination of the two. So to keep track of temp and humidity you may want something that you don't have to open to see what the humidity is. I use a xikar purotemp it can have 3 different wireless probes to read temp and humidity. I know someone reviewed govee Bluetooth hydrometer on her a while back those could be useful.

Depending on size tupperdors are hard to beat you can get some about file box size with a rubber seal around the lid at Walmart or target and some boveda for 500 cigars may need 2. I would say biggest disadvantage to a tupperdors
is playing tetris with them. When fool you have to go in find your stick then restack it.

Or find a non cooling wine fridge and use that and have them all I'm 1 place if you can find 1 big enough. If you go wine fridge you can consider electronic humidification.

Most cigar smokers I know will pick function over looks but it depends on what you want and need.
