humidor type poll

I use several plastic tubs with a rubber seal and locking levers on the sides for my humidor . Have 6 , each about 12"x8"x3" in size . Keep them in a drawer . I like the look of the wooden ones and if I ever decide to have a humidor that is setting out on a desk or dresser got a few I think look real sharp ! Was wondering what was everyones else choice for their humidor . Plastic tubs or the real McCoy ?

Plastic tubs.

I just have no reason to have a display piece. That, and I like the zero hassle and no maintenance of an air tight bin with Bovedas. Plus, with 4 kids...the cigars are safer up high and out of sight in the closet.

My first humidor was a wooden desk top. Since then I have run multiple desktops several tupperdors. My suggestion is run what works for you.
That being said keeping up with multiple humidors is near maddening. I run 2 right now but 1 is an end table that I need help to close the door, and my first humidor. Some run a dry box humidor for cigars they are gonna smoke in the next few days. Other than that get a humidor big enough to hold all your cigars to make it easier to keep up with. Sometimes checking craigslist or Facebook marketplace is a good way to upgrade to a larger humidor.

Would love a big wooden display one someday but im all about the hassle free Tupperwares, plus more $ for cigars! Maybe someday tho….

I live on both ends of the spectrum. Both work well. One just leaves you with more money for cigars. Not sure that one works any better than the other.

In the office. Would buy this one again in a second, but very difficult to find humidors made from 1/2" Walnut stock with 3/8" spanish cedar liners at a reasonable price these days. This warhorse still looks good and works well after 20 years of service.




One of 9 that lives in a 154 quart cooler in the basement. I have a couple of these with cedar trays for cigars that aren't in cello.

Will add if I do upgrade to bigger humidor I may be able to part with my current humidor.

One problem I have is it's hard to pass up good deals sometimes or may try a new to me cigar then start buying a 5 pack or something then next thing I know I buy a box !!! A bit like buying a gun safe . You never get a big enough one after awhile !!! And yes with grand kids running around is why I keep all mine in a drawer . I try and eyeball the other tubs hydrometer when I get a cigar out . Also got some am sitting on few boxes I am waiting for them to age a little . If I get a new box even if still got some ready to smoke will test one to see were it's at . I also don't like leaving cigars in just the box and will move to a tub is why at times will have several extra tubs in my drawer . Got a couple up in a cabinet cause ran out of room . It;s kind of nice to open the door and see a tub of some I forgot had stuck up there !!! My total of tubs went up by 3 cause forgot to include them . I also got a dry box I have to use sometimes up there .

The wooden Treasure Dome can be a P.I.T.A. to maintain. But sure does look nice.

I started with a 100 ct wooden desktop and it was a slow leaker. Moved to a 70 qt Marine cooler and I didn’t like basically having to empty it to find a certain cigar. Found a 170btl wine cooler on Craigslist about 8 years ago that included 13 wooden sliding shelves and things got super easy to find cigars and stoopid easy to maintain using 8#’s of unscented silica kitty litter. I am very happy with my current setup and it looks good.
