Thought about that myself, but it would blow up any chance of a return.

I would also be worried about fumes/odors/reactions from anything chemical based being added into the humidor.

Forest sells the bags of spanish cedar saw dust, maybe make a "paste" from it with a bit of wood glue and fill in the void?

If it was me, Id ask for a discounted price on it(real Cheap)..if yes, keep humi and extra cash for cigars..take this one to local HS wood shop an have it steamed, while you slip cedar shim's into corners. using outside for pressure, I would put ratchet strap around out side for strength, then let cool in 65 degree room for a week and see if the grain pulled back...with shims you well get results either way.....just a back hollor fix.......just noticed when I looked at pic's those boards cupped, tree center cut boards..if they had been fitted other way they would have pulled tight..

The problem is this one is bad too!

Am I being too picky? I can't imagine so... Sorry CBID!

Either way, I'm calling for my money back and may need to get in touch with Kayla on one of these... My office has now been teased with it's presence twice!

Bloody hell Brent! You just saved my butt a crap ton of returns. I just went out and pulled a couple of these from inventory and both of them have gaps. What was the date code on the shipping box on the one you received? Please tell me it was 123114! I will have my warehouse team check the rest of our inventory once they get in. I think it may be that an entire shipment of these is defective.

    Quality Importers humi, I presume?

Ditch the cheapo wooden humi and go with a cooler or wine cooler from CL. I mean, I really like the look of that humi, but the quality just sucks on those Quality Importers unless you do a lot of extra work to fix them up. I've had several, and all of them leaked, even with good seals at the lid. I was constantly having to add moisture to the KL or refresh the Bovedas, usually every couple weeks. I have to do it like once or twice a year with my wine coolers.

I have been tempted to get one of the nicer-looking cheap humis, rip off the bottom and silicone in a sealed bottom, figure out how to seal all the corners, and whatnot, but that's just too much work and expense when I can almost always find a wine cooler on craigslist for under $50.

Yeah, if you're going to go with a wooden humidor, and are as anal about it being sealed as I am, then you have to look at brands like Savoy, which start at $150 for a 25 count.

I'm pretty sure this is an office Humidor.

IIRC, he does have a wineador at home.

Either way, if you're spending the money on it and they claim it is of quality and has "SureSeal" tech, it should not have these issues.

    Sure was! 123114

CBID had no issue sending me another UPS Return Label... Now to decide whether to buy another of these or just go tupperdor... As already mentioned by @Upstatemax , this is for my office and I already have a wineador at home. @AlanS also gave me some sound advice, so perhaps the "on a whim" decision to go with this humidor should be put to the backburner! I can find any box I like if I'm going to use it to house a Tupperware!
