I would also strongly advise against using the "pillow" I have a number of them from shipments, but they are not like Boveda or HF,,, it is a one way humidification product,,, great for short term use, but not good for a humidor or coolidor.

Any plastic container that has even a decent seal can easily get over humidified, unlike wood containers that can absorb a little extra humidity, in a plastic container it is your sticks that will absorb the extra humidity.

Strongly advise you get some type of 2 way system... do searches on Boveda, Heartfelt or Kitty litter,,,, there are thousands of threads that will give you all the info you are looking for.

While you can use too little, You can't really use too much of it is a reliable fixed RH product (Heartfelt, HCM, Boveda). I try to go double the recommended amount just to make it more worry free. I would lean towards HCM or Heartfelt just for the ease of re-charging and long term cost savings.
    You are correct, Jesse.
No to RO water. Always distilled.even with active humidification systems like Bob Staebell's Set n Forget or Cigar Oasis.

Ummm. You do know that Bob sells a reverse osmosis system on his site and his little blurb implies that it is safe to use for his stuff?

I did not know that. But I still only use distilled water.
I wouldn't replace my existing RO system and spend $329 on his when distilled water is cheap.

100% agree, with distilled water being 99 cents a gallon there is no reason to put one in just for a humi. I was just pointing out that RO is ok per Bob, so the correct info was out there.
    Nice try MF'r!
