It just seems it would flop around and not be too stable when you open and close it, although I have never tried it.
Nar- just sitting on some crappy particple board ikea knockoff table, against the wall. It doesn't really stay pinned against the wall, kinda leans forward a bit, but not a problem, and certainly not flimsy. I hold both pieces when I open the lid, but just push hard when shutting it and it sets it against the wall again. Haven't had any problems with anything falling yet...

Pics to explain better (sorry if this was a threadjack)

So the bottom looks like this (the top), except no "big handle", just the little one. Not sure if you can tell, but it slants downward, which means the other side causes the cooler to tilt back at a slight angle, helping stabilize. The handle is a nice square towards the front of this slant, so it too plays a role in keeping the cooler slightly more stable:

Then there's this part that used to be a wheel, but it's nice and flat, and fits flush up against the wall

A picture of the bottom where it's resting on the handle:

and as I said, the whole thing is sitting on a crappy cheap end table, to keep it at a height that's easier for me to access/view it

I think it's easiest to see the slant backwards in this photo...

    Hope that helped!

Brad we're expecting to see some pics when you fill that big box !
Don't know exactly, but I looked at this humi at one time and was thinking about trying to do trays on one side and boxes in the leftover space.
Ultimately went wineador route as I needed cooling, but am really interested to see what you wind up with

*Side question: How does a closed cigar box in a humidor get humidified? I know it happens all the time, it just seems counter-intuitive.
I've had a humidor for more years than most here on the forum are old! Many years ago, I thought that all cigars should be removed from their box, opened (if wrapper in cellophane) and lied out there for the humidor to do its job.

Well, that's the WORST that can be done; long term the cigar looses ALL of its flavor. So boxes are the way to go.

Even short term, say 1 month, cigars with wrappers will almost survive OK but w/o wrappers, they loose their distinctive flavor. You saw it here first!

Sure thing, just don't hold your breath. I have a pretty good stash already and I'm not really looking to expand just yet.

Unlike most bums on the forum, I have my addiction under control

Yeah, watch it. You could lose your Bum-Card for that one!

But then again, sometimes the best things in life: love, luck & the lottery (and cigars), often occur when you're not really "looking"!

LOL - my "spare" Newair 281 came in today !

I seriously don't think I'm coordinated enough to do that big cooler standing on end, but I could handle the footlocker.

What do you mean coordinated? I literally set it on a table and against a wall. It's really not rocket science, although getting the shelves to fit right was kind of a pain. I've seen others do it better. I think mine's not half-bad. But hard... no it was not.
