Is there any difference in calibrating an analog hygrometer vs calibrating a digital one?

Not really. Most important thing seems to be to leave the setup long enough and at at constant enough temperature to stabilize. FYI, I've never had any luck with the 'salt test' using table salt. I just use a Boveda pack - not even the calibration kit, I just use a 65% pack in a mason jar, but you have to keep the ambient temperature constant because it takes a while for the rh to stabilize after a temp change. You don't get the temp constant, the rh will never stabilize.

No cigar related question is dumb. We all had to learn sometime. I think @Emperor zurg is spot on. You will want to check the calibration about once a year. After a while you will be able to tell if yoyr stogies are running dry or wet.

Yes I can definitely tell when wet/dry. Just been humid outside lately so my rh has gone up into the 70's yet in my apartment I feel as if it's less humid then what my hygrometer is reading. Or at least I hope so as I'm running out of options as what to do to lower my humidity

You can dry out Heartfelt beads in the oven. Just bake them at 120 or so for 15 minutes to half an hour and put them in the humidor dry after they cool. They'll suck out humidity till they turn clear. You can also put spent Boveda packs in there. They'll do the same thing till they get full and puffy. Bovedas hold a lot more water than beads too. Hope you didn't toss your spent packs

I use xikar crystals, took them out last week, put on some spanish cedar slats to try and take up some humidity, 69% boveda was the lowest they had at my b&m

Well AFAIK, xikar crystals are not 2 way, they only release humidity so they're no good to you now. No good putting new Boveda packs in there either since they're already pretty much full of moisture in the first place - you need one that's mostly empty if you're looking to reduce humidity. Sounds like you need to order some Heartfelt beads and just put them in there dry - either that or the silica kitty litter would work too.
