Lonely Wandering Bum
If it is a plastic tube, I drill holes in it and load it with humidifier crystals. I have about 10 of these that are in use today. When they need to be recharged, I just fill a cup with distilled water and let them soak. I give the the glass and metal ones away.

Will work for tobacco.
I use one as a traveling pen case for my fountain pen. I put a cotton ball in the bottom and another in the cap to cushion the pen.
I used to use a few to carry ready-to-go power charges for my BP rifles, but now I have a measuring powder flask and don't use 'em for that anymore.

I saved 'em for awhile to use for pocketing a cigar to go, but they all got dented. Then I got a leather two-finger case and now I throw tubes away when I get one, which is rare.

Jumpin’ Railcars and Collectin' Cans
The few that I have I will probably use for carrying for short trips as protection, and as momentos as they were my first CC purchase. I don't anticipate getting any more any time soon. Boxes, fivers online, or singles at the B&M are what I'll be buying going forward.

Fusilli Jerry?
I've seen pigs in boxes and I've seen pigs raised for slaughter.
