BlueDevil07 Wineador Build
My wine cooler arrived Friday, so I thought I'd put together a humble thread to document the process of the wineador creation.
It is an 18-bottle Avalon Bay purchased from air-n-water. It was scratch-and-dent, but it looks more like it was used briefly and returned. There were no scratches or dents to be found. The temp can be set between 55-64 F, and the interior contains some blue mood lighting when desired.

After 24 hours I washed the inside several times with water to remove all the baking soda, and dried the inside with paper towels. At this point the odor was reduced considerably. After this, I added back the baking soda container along with some crumpled news papers to remove any lingering odors for 24-48 hours (no hurry here).

Lookin good man. it really is just a waiting game at this point, the longer you wait the better off you will be. Did you order drawers?

Looking good, Farrell! All drawers? Regular SC fronts or a stained fronts?

I ordered 2 shelves from Forrest over the weekend. I may take a shot at building a drawer or two while the singles hang out in some tupperware containers or empty cigar boxes inside. I figure this will end up being half boxes and half singles. Everything at the moment is still in the humi or in tupperdors, so I fortunately don't have to rush anything.

Just ordered two shelves at the moment. I was going to try my hand at making some basic drawers first (fingers crossed). If that falls through, I'll cave and buy one or two.

So I got a wild hair today and decided to try my hand at making a drawer for the wineador. I swung by Home Depot and picked up some poplar planks in the same dimensions as the Spanish cedar I want to use. The end result wasn't as bad as I had expected. The ends that fit into the slots need some additional sanding, but that's about all.
One thing I've noticed lately is condensation in the bottom of the cooler when it's turned on (64 F). I figure that's what the drain plug was for, which is currently not sealed. Is this something that will subside once I've added beads/KL to adsorb the excess moisture?

Nice work!
I often eye our 12 bottle fridge and think I should upgrade her so I can snatch it!

The kitty litter should help with condensation. What does your RH read at with it empty?
For the drawers, I would think about a Kreg Jig!

They are awesome for this type of stuff. They make really solid connections that look really nice since you can hide the connections better.

The RH was around 61% at 64 F when it was empty, so the dew point should be around 51 F. I'm guessing the peltier is cooling down below this at some point to drop the temp inside, and that's where the condensation is coming from. I just placed an order for a half pound of Heartfelt beads. I was wondering if elevating the wineador so it's not on the carpet would help with cooling underneath also.
