It's your birthday and you want to have a nice cigar after work...
but then you remember you live in Iowa and it's going to be -20 outside
and you don't have anywhere indoors to smoke...

That has got to suck, I thought I had it rough with it being in the 20's this morning.
Happy Birthday

Do suppose it slows the aging process when you stay frozen half the year? Happy Birthday. Enjoy

Happy Birthday!
Sorry for the lack of indoor smoking. I know the feeling. I have to drive 25 minutes to the closest B&M. -15/-20 here today as well. Good luck!

Happy birthday brother. This is a thread to my own heart, because my birthday is tomorrow, in Illinois, where it will be cold as balls.

I know the feeling brother. I want to smoke tonight but its supposed to be a low of -3 with a -22 windchill. Let's just say I'm still considering smoking despite the temps. Oh, and happy Birthday.

Thanks for the nice posts guys, I appreciate it. I do actually have a local B&M I can stop by but I don't like smoking there, you have to buy their cigars and they don't keep them properly stored (I've seen mold on more than a few). So I guess if I really want to smoke today I can, I just didn't enjoy it much the last time I was there and that defeats the purpose.
I keep telling myself: two more years and the GF will be done with grad school and we can move somewhere warm. Unless I get the job I'm in the process for and then they can send me anywhere for three years.
Happy early birthday Chiefilliniwek! I'm about 2.5 hours from Chicago, I actually work in Rock Island, IL but I live on the Iowa side of the Quad Cities.
Nevermore - that's about what it is here, it's only -20 with windchill, thankfully. It's gotten close to that real temps a few times and it's not ok. It's actually warmed up a bit (3 degrees and -9) lol.

Had a similar problem a couple weeks ago on my birthday...only got into the 50s that day...had to start a fire in the pit on the patio...

Happy B-day. Guess I'm lucky my sweet wife doesn't mind if I smoke in the kitchen. I turn on the stove exhaust fan and it clears out nicely.
Happy Birthday and good luck finding somewhere to enjoy (not just smoke) your birthday cigar.
We have a little winter in the Houston, TX area at times, but seldom below freezing.
As a buddy of mine who lives in Brazil said: "I don't go where bananas don't grow".

Find a cheapest cigar similar to what you bring in and play a switch-a-roo with the cigars. Take the band off and they won't know you're smoking the ones you brought in! :D

Happy Birthday!
Would it be possible to drive around smoking with the windows cracked?

I don't smoke in my car, so unfortunately no. I smoked in my first car and after I quit smoking the smell really bothered me (cigarettes) and never went away. When I got my first new car I swore I'd never smoke in it, which was tough when I started smoking again and quit a number of times. I'm glad I stuck with it though, it's been ten years since I smoked in one of my vehicles and when I quit again close to five years ago I was glad I never smoked in my vehicle. I also got a lot more for it when I sold it because it was super clean and well maintained.
Tman - I thought about doing that but I feel bad. Honestly I wish they just offered a "cigar smokers club membership" or something where you pay a fee per day/week/month/year and can smoke there whenever you want. Offer discounts based on the longer you want to sign up for and club rewards for people who buy product in your store. Around here you'd probably make a killing during the winter with guys like me who want to hang out and smoke but not buy your cigars. Who knows, maybe you get us in the door frequently and we end up buying more cigars...

Could you ask them if it was ok to bring in a cigar from home to smoke while there IF you go ahead and buy something they sell? Just tell them you like yours set to a specific humidity level and yours kept at home are at that level.

This is what I would do. Or if their cigars are that bad or they don't have anything you want, just pay a "cover charge" instead of buying something you don't want.
Good luck & Happy Birthday.

I'd go the "bring it and buy something so you can smoke it there" route. Just explain to the guys that it is your B-day and you flipping deserve this! :D

Look at it this way: you don't have to move some place warm, just some place with a good lounge. That's my approach for the next move with the wife. I hope you were able to get a smoke in tonight.
I'm in Peoria, and usually only drive thru the Quad Cities. I haven't really hung out there. I did play golf at TPC Deere Run in Silvis a couple of years ago. It ate me alive, but I still had a good time. I smoked a CAO Black. I remember that one.
