Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good cheap v cutter. Bought a cheapy from amazon that seemed like it would work great, and did on my first cigar, but found it like this when I went to use it tonight. Would love a Colibri but not willing to pull the trigger on a $50-60 dollar cutter. Hoping there's another brand that would be reliable, sharp and reasonably cheap that someone could suggest.

Colibri's are 32 on amazon, I bought one when there was a flash sale on another site for 25. I know a step above a cheapie but they aren't quite 50-60 anymore and well worth it if you ask me.

Would be around $42 for me after currency conversion, still cheaper than buying from amazon.ca though. Might have to order one if I can't find a better deal anywhere else, thanks.

I got mine for $20 on Auctioneer and it handles the big boys too. Also bought a cheapie Vertigo plastic one with a Famous order, they show it for $2.95 now, that works pretty good.

I got a $10 pair at CI just to see if I'd even like a V-cut. They have been good enough that I use them most of the time now, and haven't felt the need to buy something more expensive.

My experience with a cheap V-cutter was not good - it mutilated my cigar. Best to save up for a Colibri or a Xikar; just my two cents.

I'd agree. You can find a crappy condition Xikar V Cutter on eBay sometimes and then trade it at a store for a new one. Did this with my X3, but my Xikar V cutter is pretty much the only one I use anymore. Couldn't give it a higher recommendation, just like those Don Ronsons

And that's what they call thinking outside the box!
