View Full Version : Finally found a straight burley I can stand, and it’s a cheap one.

Five Brothers in a pouch.
Pretty straightforward stuff but not too bad.
Good for the drive to school when I’m not concentrating too hard on the flavors.
Rumor is, it has a hell of a nicotine hit, but I just smoked 2 bowls back to back in my Dr. Grabow Savoy and am not feeling much.

OK, try this experiment - shave all the hair off of your chest, then smoke a bowl or two of Five Brothers, then watch it grow back within about 15 minutes :)
Seriously, you must have some resistance to Uncle Nic, bcs that's some strong stuff.

Actually I was about halfway through the 2nd bowl when I typed that.
By the end I felt it. Wasn't sick, but I felt it.

Have you ever tried Solani 656, Aged Burley Flake? It’s the only burley that I like.

I have, but I smoked it fresh and gave the remainder of the tin to a friend who likes it.
I need to re-visit it and give it another shot. I've had a few blends that I didn't like at first, but then later did enjoy.

Truly sublime pipe weed - when you can find it.

It's more manlier that Peterson Irish Flake? OK, not a straight burley blend - but it has burley in it... and it was so stout that the first time I tried it I was watching purple flamingos and a line of pigs do a CanCan across the ceiling while I debated Frodo Baggins and Carl Jung on the theory of Synchronisity.

Nope, haven't tried that one (& based on your description, I think I'd remember).

Everybody should at least try it!

I’ve tried Irish Flake. Don’t plan to try it again. Just not my tin o’ weed.

Yezzir, but in a pipe with a small bowl. My mistake was trying to smoke it in a MM Egg... nicotine high/sickness from hell was the result. Finally worked my way back up to it by acclimating with some MacB ODF. Smooth sailing after that - but still smoke it in a pipe with a small bowl... like a Falcon Bulldog or a Pete 999.

I love Irish Flake.
For some reason I smoke it more when it's cold outside.
Not sure why, but it just hits the spot for me in the winter.
