How often do you check your hygrometer?
I noticed my wineador seems to be having troubles holding humidity lately, it's winter and dry as hell here but I have only opened it once in the last month. Noticed the screen on it was dimming so figured I'd slap a new battery in it and give it a test. It hasn't been tested since I set it up, about 2-3 years. Digital (top shelf) and analog (bottom shelf) have both been reading 62, I have a pound of %65 HF beads spread between top and bottom and 6 %65 bovedas, 2 in each drawer. Currently ziplocked in with a %62 boveda and reading at 60 so I might need to adjust it up, but only been sitting for about half an hour. How long should it take to get an accurate reading?

Well almost an hour in and it's ready 62 so I'm guessing I just need more beads. Might be time to look into a kitty litter set up. With the beads and bovedas I have now I'd imagine it shouldn't be too hard

I always recalibrate every time I change batteries. Just to make it faster, I always put it in a tupperware just big enough for it and a boveda of my preferred RH, put it in a dark place and come back in like 3-4 hours.

Jesse, do you find it being off or is it to just varify it is still accurate and peace of mind?

Mostly for piece of mind. It's usually within 1-2%.

Plus 1 on the boveda and small tupperware for recalibration! Been my method for years.
I personally try to recalibrate every 6 months or so, which is usually when the cooler and wineador need a spritz. Probably overkill but, it’s Simple and helps me sleep better!

Left it over night and it was only up by 1%. With an accuracy of +/- 1% I figure it's good.

I'm sure I'll get that sideways look from some but my answer is:
"Never" in the small glass top AND "I don't even have one" in the gun case humidor.
As long as the Bovedas aren't dried out and everything seems to be smoking fine I don't worry about it.
