I haven't had a cigar in a couple weeks thanks to work and now a cold. When I don't get to smoke for a while I spend a lot of time looking at cigars on the internets. It got me thinking, the end of the year will be here before you know it. So will all the Cigar of the Year lists. What are some of the best cigars you guys and gals smoked this year? It doesn't have to be new release. Use whatever criteria you want, list however many you want.

Sadly, I haven't smoked a ton of cigars this year. I think 1/3rd of my total consumption was at the Orgy. So here's what I got, in no particular order:

Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Magnifico
Opus x 20th Celebration Father and Son
Fuente Casa Cuba Divine Inspiration
Fuente Magnum R 44

From the Dark Side:
Romeo Short Churchill from 2007
Bolivar #2 Tubo from 2008
Ramon Allones Small Club Corona
Behike 52 smoked in Don's honor.

Oh man... memory isn't my strong suit, but if I had to pick some that stood out of the one I tried for the first time I would pick:

CAO Pilon - in robusto only. The Churchills have done nothing but disappoint.

HVC Cerro and Master Mason - were a rally nice surprise.

Caldwell Blind Man's Bluf - Robusto.

Alec Bradly Coyol - Lancero

Pappy Van Winkle - some sort of slender Toro.

Took a while to be certain,
Some good ones, Cuban and non Cuban to choose from, but none were really "that" close to this cigar.
San Cristobal Seleccion Del Sol Fireplug by Don Pepin Garcia.

Best one of I smoked all year was an AF Añejo 46 that I'd been sitting on for a couple years. But then I doubt I smoked a dozen cigars all year, probably more like half that. Usually if I want to smoke something I reach for a pipe.

Tabernacle and Mi Querida have been my favorite new smokes this year. Tabernacle is the best new smoke I've had in a long time. Very well done.

I've been wanting to try the Wise Man Maduro as well, but haven't gotten around to it.

Since the CA list is coming out, I figured I'd bump this. Looks like the top 10 are out now and the rest tomorrow. Just my 2 cents, 1-4 are all awesome, can't argue with them. 5 can be awesome. 7-8 are really good. But I can't say I've had 6, 9 or 10. The Fuente/Padron/Oliva 1-2-3 doesn't surprise me considering all that happened in 2017 but at least they are cigars worthy of the spots. What do you guys think?

As a cynic, I don't typically buy in to commercial top 10 lists (I'll take the posts in this thread above any list), but this year it looks pretty legit.

I had my first and only Eye of the Shark last month and it was great. They are already scarce, and now they will be unobtainium by virtue of being named #1.

Never heard of #9 (Plasencia), #10 (Villiger).

The sucker in me MUST try #13 (Archetype Axis Mund) just for that FANTASTIC band!

All in all, I'd say one of CA's better lists. I always enjoy seeing what Cigar Coop comes up with too. I really enjoy Coop's reviews and insights.

I have to check out the Coop.
And not to offend, but don't trust CA. Too commercial IMO.

I usually don't agree with CA's #1 cigar, but I think the EOTS is an excellent choice. But I am a Fuente Whore.
