It rains here a little, cant imagine living in tornado alley. Crap may as well build a home on the railroad tracks.

Lol, it's not quite that bad Alan. Sure tornadoes pop up from time to time and can be devastating, but I would guess that over the last 100 years, of all the people that live in tornado alley, probably way less than 1% have ever had tornado damage. Sometimes you just hit the lottery.

It was closer than fur on a coyote, but just 3.5 miles from me. There was actually 3 tornados. Tulsa, Broken Arrow and up north at Oolagah. My buddies pawn shop was right in the middle of it. Everything torn to shit on all sides of the pawn shop, but his place stood tall. I'm talking EVERYONE around him was hit and his sign was still standing along with the shop. It also ran a half mile south of dad's, so we all were very lucky.....

Yessir, there was ZERO warning in Tulsa. When the sirens went off in Broken Arrow, it was past us. The weather people said they developed so fast that it caught them off their feet. It was just a hell of a night as I couldn't get ahold of my people to see if they were good.....

I can't think of much that's scarier than a tornado. I will gladly take my hurricanes. At least you get a weeks notice to get the hell out of town. Glad you are ok David

Tornadoes are scary stuff when they get close to yourself, friends and loved ones. When we had our monster people were just wondering around like bloody zombies. Others were screaming and in full panic mode looking for loved ones. And it was like that farther than the eye could see. Downed power lines everywhere, thankfully all power was dead from the damage being so massive. It feels weird when you are walking in 4" of water and are stepping over huge power lines. The smell of natural gas was everywhere and I remember expecting a massive explosion at any time. Weird times and it still seems surreal and is something I hope I never have to experience again. I am glad you and yours are fine David.

Glad to hear you and yours are ok David,Here just south of Guthrie we only got a sprinkle.
Right before my brother passed away Moore had one pass about a half mile south of him.
He was wheelchair bound at that time and my nephew had to drive thru the storm yo get
home and then get the both of them to safety.I spent several days nursing a generator
along so my brother could use is nebulizer and other accouterments.

Glad to hear all is well with you and yours David. We don't get many up here in New Yawk but we did just have a small one touch down about 50 miles from us and to see it move cars and trailers is just amazing. I'll take a little snow over that any day

Thank You, it was a couple years back and with the disease that was eating him up
it was really a blessing. On the bright side, I got to spend several days "camping"
with my Bro.

Yessir, it's something to experience. I was in Houston for Hurricane Ike in 2008. The mass migration trying to get north to Dallas was a sight to see. People couldn't get gas and were strung all along the Interstate. I didn't burn my gas sitting still on the highway. When I caught up with the back of the pack, I would pull over, load up the 10mm and grab a nap. I had a room reserved in Dallas, so when I got there, I got there.....

Ahhhh yes, old JJ. Cale. One of the pioneers of the "Tulsa Sound". Always stayed out of the limelight, but wrote some killer songs. Just ask Eric Clapton.......

Love JJ Cale. Saw him in Tulsa, early 70's at a roadhouse that was under a freeway. Had such a great time, I saw a UFO hovering over Will Rogers Turnpike on the way home. It was farm trout!

My memory has me thinking it was in an old warehouse district but I could be wrong. Saw Leon Russell at the same venue.

That it was, and still is. Brady Street is one block north of Archer, which was described as the wrong side of the tracks back when, as the railroad tracks separated north and south Tulsa. Saw BB King there a few years ago. He had to sit during the concert as he fell getting off the bus earlier and had a broken leg. Another great concert I seen there was the Robert Cray Band. I was literally 15' from the band, and it was amazing. Damn horn section took a piece of my hearing abilities....
