Can you blow smoke rings? When / where do you do it?

I have learned to blow rings. Not very often though, as I only do this at home; never at a lounge. Being as all my smoking at home is outdoors, conditions have be right;

No wind! Being in Nebraska and outdoors this is rare.
Significant part of my smoking is late, after dark. Need to have light to see them!
Cigar needs to produce enough volume of smoke. ... Usually not a problem.

I really only do this for my own entertainment; or recently, my kids asked if I could.

Post up pics of your RINGS!

I voted yes although I haven't done it in a long time. I think I can still do it.

WOW! :dude:
I think I've only got maybe 4-5, ill-formed in a row.

Now I have something to strive for. :machinegun:

I do them sometimes, but only with enough force to send them halfway across the room. It's neat to watch but they are gone to quickly for a good picture.

I seem to be able to do them more constitantly with a pipe than a cigar, if that matters.

Can 'see.'

*Now cannot say that I'm able to foretell the future...but perhaps that fellow at Lloyds will read your post this morning and this is but a glimpse at your future employment.
Of course the Cigar I've just smoked may have been responsible for this touch of clairvoyance,
or it may be down to the Rum.
Either way.

Yeah, now you are just showing off!

I've done it once or twice on accident. I tried to learn how a long time ago and gave up.

Nice! Our old marketing director wanted to take photos of me blowing smoke rings for the blog. I have no trouble blowing smoke rings, but getting a photo of them that he deemed "good enough" was painful. It took about an hour. And you would think spending an hour smoking at work would be great... not when you are smoking as fast as possible to get it done!

Darlin' what ur blowing there isn't a ring, it's a smoke mushroom.

Pretty good one tho... makes me hungry for some deep fried mushrooms

It's fun to blow smoke rings and as suggested you want to smoke a cigar that is densely packed so that you can get a big volume of smoke. Easiest way I know how to do this is to hold the smoke for a few seconds....open your mouth and make a circle with your lips....use your tongue to gently push some smoke out as you'll find a rhythm that makes the best ring. Start slow and then find that motion that gives you the best ring and after that you can use your lips to help like a fish does when you catch one. I've gotten so good at it that I can make a big smoke ring and then push a smaller ring inside of it and only do that when I feel like showing off. If only they would throw money when I do that!
