No fluff just the stuff
Wrapper - San Andreas Maduro
Binder - Dominican/Honduran
Filler - Nicaraguan/Honduran
Vitola - 7 x 38 Lancero
Smoke Time - 1 hour 45 mins
Pairing - Water
Price - $7
Pre Light - Sweet tobacco, roast coffee
Cold Draw - Mocha, sweet tobacco
Appearance - Blotchy dark chocolate color, little oil. Seamless with some veins. Rough texture.
Light - Pepper, coffee, chocolate
1st Third - Peppery and meaty with a cocoa and coffee backbone. Slightly nutty. Retrohale is peppery and sweet. Medium full strength and body. Slightly tannic and dry.
2nd Third - The profile pretty much stays the same but every now and then the coffee takes on a subtle french vanilla note. Almost caramel-like. A bit of woodiness also creeps in. Retrohale is still peppery and sweet. Med-full body and strength.
Final Third - Other than picking up some creaminess the profile really hasn't budged much from the pepper, dark chocolate, and coffee maduro flavors. The retrohale on the other hand does pick up some nice vanilla notes with the pepper toning down a little. Medium full body and strength.
Construction - Nice draw, good smoke production, even burn, firm ash by lance standards.
Overall - If you like San Andreas maduro wrappers and lanceros you should really give this one a try. The profile doesn't have a lot of transitions but whats there is nice the whole way through.
