So I've had my Treasure Dome for the past 2 yrs. It's been dowing pretty good. But about a month ago I started losing rH, the Boveda paks dried up & the Heartfelt beads white.

So I said to myself "maybe I need to reseason it".

I'm living out of Tupperware.

Since Feb 9th I've had DW in the above setup but the rH is not holding. Hygrometer is reading 58%.
I am checking the calibration on the hygrometer after changing the battery. I have no idea what could have happened.

Maybe try the Boveda seasoning packs?

Likely this will not be something you've not already done.
But, have you checked the corners at the bottom of the Humidor?

I found that a bead of Aquarium grade silicon around the edges of the bottom on the outside of course help in a big way.

You still have the boveda and the beads in there with the DW? They look pretty dry and I would assume be taking in the humidity from the water before anything else. Recharging boveda that way in a sealed ziploc takes a while doing it in a humidor with the slightest leak would taken even longer if it happens at all.

I would recharge media seperatly and re-season the humidor with just DW.

Brian, how often were your Boveda and beads needing recharged?

Worth a try! Thx.

Didn't even think of it since it was holding good and I've only moved it maybe twice. But definitely going to check now.

Can't Hurt! Thx

The weird thing is that I just put the boveda in there about a week ago and the 65% paks (~4 of them) charged fine. They are nice & plump, squishy. But everything else is dry, the 1/2 lb of 70% beads and a few 69% paks. I'll get them out of there and see.

Brian, how often were your Boveda and beads needing recharged?
Once every 60 days.

Your 65's are probably pulling the moisture out of the higher RH stuff.

Got Ya!
I'm gonna pull everything out and try again. Plus look for any other possible leaks.

Worth a shot at least. I had a small 72 boveda that came in order. I tossed in a zip lock with couple 65's that I needed to recharge, they sucked that 72 dry.

Yeah, mixing different RH medias is bad, as they just keep transferring humidity back and forth and don't really condition the humidor at all.

Hey Brian how did you make out?

Hey Brian how did you make out?

Took the boveda paks out and put some more DW, haven't looked at it since. Been working doubles for the past week & a half.

I'll make it a point to check when I get in tonight.

I just checked last night and it's at 78%. I'm gonna leave the DW in there until the weekend is over then take the bowl out and see where it stays.

Hey Brian how did you make out?

rH up to 77 for past 2 days, seal feels a little tighter. Gonna double check for any leaks that I may be able to address tonight. Then I'll take ot the DW and see where it ends up in a day or two.
Then hopefully able to load it back up

Here is what I do in mine and has always worked for me. #1 you cant have different RH% packs in there. That is a humidor no no for sure. BUT that said what I do is I use the Bovida packs as a regulator of sorts. I will have PLENTY of Bovida in there and I will add kitty litter crystals in a small tub of distilled water and it will give off LOADS of humidity but the Bovida will suck up the over humidity that the Crystals give off. Once my packs feel nice and juicy I will remove the crystals and the packs are good for several months on their own. Once they start to even feel a little crunchy I drop the crystals back in there and were good to go. In doing that as many times as I have, my hygrometers (3 in there) rarely ever change but 1% point +-.

Good luck!

Cheers
