As if I needed more of an incentive to do business with smokingpipes as much as possible. I think I've gotten 3 separate e mails about their "new warehousing problems". I've decided they're only worth using when they have a sale of 20% or more on whatever I'm looking for.

Perhaps I will be looking at Smoking Pipes for the order I want to place then. This is not the only place someone has mentioned recent and ongoing shipping issues with pipes and cigars.
I did want to try some H&H blends as part of the order but those can wait till they get their shipping and warehouse issue sorted out. Or maybe they will have it together by the time I figure out what else I want in order to hit free shipping.

This isn't the first issue I've had unfortunately. Shipments routinely have damaged tins and ship long after an order. But this is more unorganized than usual. Order placed 3 days ago still has not shipped. My smokingpipes orders ship the day I place if it's before lunchtime.

I have never had an issue with P&C until my most recent order.
I placed an order on 2-12. After 4 days of not receiving a shipping confirmation, I was about to email the CS dept. to see what the issue was.
I got an email from them regarding warehouse changes and a $20 gift certificate (code) for my trouble.
I was initially impressed and appreciative.
However, it is now 11 days out and when I log onto my account it still says "processing".
Don't know what the problem is. I appreciate them trying to make it right and giving me a gift certificate for my trouble without me even contacting them, but I would like the tobacco I ordered.
I generally go with them on small orders because smokingpipes.com's shipping is substantially higher on small orders.
I'll go with 4noggins or smokingpipes next time I think, at least until they get their issues straightened out. As I said, I have placed dozens of orders with them, and this is the first issue I've had, so I'm not ready to write them off just yet.

I buy from SmokingPipes almost exclusively. If they accept your order, they have the stock on hand to fulfill it. Their pipe descriptions are the best, by far, and they'll refund your money if you return a purchased pipe - provided that you return it in as-received condition. I've done that with two pipes, just because I didn't like them in- hand. And they're friendly folks, too. It's a good idea to open an account with them.

The few things I ordered for the IPSD sale are just sitting there 'processing' too :(
Not too big a deal, I only ordered because of the 20% off sale. I hardly 'needed' any of it.

I placed an order with P&C on IPSD and it still hasn't shipped. This is the first time I remember having a problem with their shipping, though. They usually ship my orders the next day.

It looks like a bunch of undetected errors in their system reared up and compounded together on the worst of all possible occasions, and brought the house down.
I have been doing IPSD with P&C for years, but this time I opted not to. Good thing, it seems. :spidey:

Hard for me to deal with any company that has issues with Shipping. It should never take more than a week to "fix" them and
in these days software is so good that problematic issues should rarely come to fruition unless it's crap software or the person
running the software has no clue. If the business is a reputable business then they should get things squared away quickly and
give out to their consumers some kind of credit ( 20% ) shows good faith but by the same token there should be follow up on
their end to ensure that orders are being processed without their account showing order still being processed. JMO
However, it is now 11 days out and when I log onto my account it still says "processing".
I don't think P&C's order page has ever reflected an accurate status for me.
But I forgive them that, especially after I've requested changes to my order prior to shipping. They've always gotten it right. Might not be all in one package, and might have taken longer than it probably should have, but it was always right.

Yeah, I'm not furious and sending profanity laced emails or anything. Lord knows I've got years worth of tobacco (although I am looking forward to that McClelland Red and Black).
However, no matter why this is happening, it is the kind of thing that consumers will remember when it comes time to make an order.

Sounds like the shipment was created late enough in the day that UPS was not able to pick it up and scan it the day the email was sent. It should be live tracking sometime this evening. I know at work that UPS only picks up once a day and not on the weekend, which is probably true for most commercial accounts.

Well I just got confirmation that one of my orders has shipped. The larger one, which is also the one that was placed on the 12th, still is not showing shipped.
Hopefully they just sent them together.

Well I hope everyone's stuff is coming.
I have one package that is supposed to ship tomorrow. Also got notification that one just shipped. That's all of mine. Nineteen days from order to shipped.
Hope they have everything figured out. They're going to have to do some major sucking up to make this right with many of their customers. The comments on their Facebook page are pretty harsh.

I'm pretty sure this issue affected all three companies they operate, so that could be part of it. I doubt this is how they would choose to go out of business as this is gonna be a huge nightmare on their end in terms of accounting and taxes. I hate tracking down inventory problems in a company far smaller with far fewer sales. Something on the scale of this problem would make quitting a really attractive option if I was stuck dealing with it.

Well I got my small order. It was for two tins of tobacco and two bundles of pipe cleaners.
One of the tins was missing.
There was no mention of a backorder. The order form inside says they are both there. FML

Yeah, problems or not thats a horrible way to ship something. Now you have to call and argue to make sure that things get fixed correctly. More and more glad I decided to not order from them.

I went with them to save a couple bucks on shipping.
I guess the old adage that you get what you pay for is proving correct.

I could live with 9 days.
I'm at 19 days. They say shipped, but still no tracking #.
I used to gripe about C-Bids shipping times. Those were the good ol' days. ;)

Well I've ordered from them dozens of times and I've never had any problem whatsoever. It's only been this recent disaster. And a disaster it certainly was/is.

they are my go to because they always seem to have Plum Pudding and Mississippi River in stock.
but yea 19+ days is not right, I wonder if they were back ordered on something but had it coming in?

Well I doubt it seeing as how the box that did get shipped didn't have something in it.
I was surprised too. I went to my account and looked at past purchases and I have ordered from them 17 times. Nothing bad has ever happened before now.
I'm not boycotting them forever. I'll just let them get the kinks worked out before I try them again. That is assuming they get all of my stuff to me, which I'm sure they will eventually.

I know I've been posting a lot on this, but I believe in giving credit where it's due.
I was looking at my credit card statement this evening because I pay it off at the end of each week. I noticed that P&C had charged my card for my first order this morning.
Now they charged it as soon as I made the order on the 12th, so I was thinking, "Here we go. They charged me twice."
Nope. They had credited my account back the original charge and only actually charged me when it shipped today.
So in the midst of the chaos, they did the right thing in regards to charging the customer. Props.

Well they kind of lied when they told me they shipped it on the 3rd.
I got an email this morning with tracking number and I checked and they did create the shipping label.
If it is shipped out today, I figure I'll get it Tuesday or so. That will put this fiasco at a total of 32-34 days.
There is some mighty fine McClelland Virginias in that order. I'm ready to get my grubby nicotine stained paws on it. :pipe:

What a clusterfrack! This is where good businesses go to die when they do this. S/R is not rocket science and between ALL of these companies that their software has gone to hell and they can't fix it in a reasonable amount of time it shows up and coming businesses how "not to" do business. One screw up like this gives you a reason to use an outside Vendor to do your S/H as they would be able to fix this fiasco in a day or so.

Update. I got a package in from P&C today.
It was a tin of Dunhill Elizabethan that had been missing from a previous order.
Still nothing on the order that I placed on February 12th.
32 days and counting.
I have been patient and even defended their company online to people running it down. They are making it awful hard to continue to do that.
I'm almost to the point where I'm done and will just pay more money somewhere else from now on.

I placed my order on 2-12.
On 3-2 I got an email saying it had shipped. But I have yet to receive the tobacco or even a tracking number.
I'm almost to the point of disputing the charge with the CC company and telling them to stick it. I have been patient but it is wearing thin.

I was more than a little disgruntled when I got an email from them yesterday advertising some McClelland blends with Syrian Latakia when they hadn't yet shipped my order. I was thinking, how can they be advertising when they can't fulfill orders? Then a little while later, the email came saying that they had shipped. Last evening I got an email with the tracking number and sure enough it is moving towards me.

Well, I ordered 8 pounds of blending tobaccos from them on 2/20/17. I was excited to hear that they had actually mailed a package for me just last week. It came but it was in two separate little boxes - they had shipped 8 oz. of Smyrna in each box! So I only got one pound out of the 8 that I ordered, but they only charged me $6.88! Then I got another shipping notification earlier this week, but it hasn't left the warehouse yet. What a mess! The good news is that they are only charging me when the stuff actually ships.

Well we have finally finished the deal.
The tobacco that I ordered on February 12 just arrived at my office. It would have been lost forever had I not posted on their Facebook page.
I had 6 emails over the course of about 3 weeks go unanswered so I went on their public Facebook page and told them I was going to call my CC company and dispute the charge if I didn't hear something.
I had a manager respond on FB and told me to email her the details.
I did and she said somehow the order got lost in the fray and most likely ended up in someone else's box.
Anyway, 2 months and 1 day later, I have my tobacco.
Glad its over.

I'm not going to just write them off forever, but I'll definitely give it a while to make sure they've got everything straightened out.
Some folks have long memories though, and I reckon I can't blame them either.

Once they have all their ducklings in a row they may have to drop their prices for a while to lure people back. IDK how much room they have to move on pipe tobacco, pipe and cigar margins but I'd be willing to bet that if their prices were consistently and substantially cheaper than than anywhere else, all but the most hard-nosed folks would come flocking back. Money talks after all. If that does happen, I'll probably be right there to buy even more pipe tobacco that I absolutely do not need :p :pipe: Maybe a pipe or two as well :pipe: :pipe: :pipe:

Thanks to Cool Breeze for providing me with an P&C manager's email address! She took care of me and expedited my order from 7/20/2017! Although a few items are still on backorder, they should be arriving later in the week. In an email today, I also received an apology and a $50 gift certificate from the brand manager.
