Cigar: Tatuaje Pudgy Monster, Mummy

Prelight: Mummy has the RG of The Mummy, and the length of Mini Mum, and is the skinniest of the Pudgies. There are a few minor soft spots in the cigar, mainly near the foot. The wrapper has a sweet, pungent barnyard aroma to it, the texture is toothy, and the color is a ruddy reddish-brown, and the triple cap is very nicely made. Mummy has a closed foot, which is always fun. After a punch, the draw is right where I like it and the flavor is primarily woody earth, but there is a touch of sweetness.

1/3: Mama Mia! This is a spicy cigar! My nose immediately catches fire from the retrohale. I think there may be some cedar in there, but it’s hard to tell through the spiciness. This eventually begins to die down, and I begin noticing flavors of earthy cedar, with some baking spices – perhaps cinnamon.

2/3: Yep, I’m pretty sure it’s cinnamon. And cedar. The earthiness gets stronger in the second third as the spice diminishes to almost non-extant levels. The ash has been a flaky, light grey and lasting about an inch and a half. The burn line is perfect.

3/3: Chocolate comes into play in the final third, rounding out all the spiciness I had been dealing with, with an almost creamy sweetness. The whole third is a delicious mix of chocolate and cedar. Good to the last puff.
Overall: A pretty good cigar. Very spicy though, but if that’s your thing, you’ll love it. I tend to like my cigars on the sweeter, earthier side, so it was almost a chore to get to the final third, where Mummy evolved to my liking. The construction performed flawlessly. Personally, I won’t be chasing down another Mummy any time soon, but it’s a really good cigar none-the-less.
