The 2nd Annual Cigar Bum Orgy held at CIGARfest - will you be there?

Fellow bums - the annual Cigars International CIGARfest is coming up soon - the event runs Thursday May 4th through Sunday May 7. Besides the CIGARfest event itself on Friday and Saturday, there are other free events around complete with cigar celebrities and great deals on cigars.

Last year we held the 1st Annual Cigar Bum Orgy at CIGARfest. It's only fitting that this year will be the 2nd Annual Cigar Bum Orgy held at CIGARfest!

Will you join us?

Last year's Orgy was a phenomenal time. Words can't say how much fun we had last year. I have been looking forward to this day since we left the parking lot to head home last year.

Over the course of the Orgy many bums were present including Demuths1770, 04EDGE40, Horseshoe, lvfcrook1503, penna stogey, Tombstone, OtismyMan, SeanTheEvans, Ciro, and greige matter. I think I got everyone.

Jay the Cigar Bum Orgy is held in Hamburg, PA in conjunction with Cigars International's CIGARfest. If you look at my original post on the first page you'll see a link to pictures from last year. Essentially a bunch of bums Orgying it up and smoking cigars, having some drinks, shooting the bull, sometimes with pants on, sometimes without. It was a blast last year and I can't wait for this years to come! If you can swing few days traveling to the east coast it will be worth it!

If you are renting a car follow the signs out of the Airport for Rt 22 west. Rt 22 becomes I-78 about 5 mile west of the airport. Take exit 29B. you will see Cabella's. CI is right next t door.

My only advice is F*ck Atlanta. Of course I have a short layover in Atlanta but I always have a problem when I go through Hartsfield-Jackson. All I am packing is a carry on so the bastiges don't lose any luggage and I don't have to worry about it as I run from gate to gate. My shortest layover is 50 minutes and it should be ok, but it makes me nervous. Did I already say F Atlanta? F Atlanta.

Southwest - should be able to do it cheaper, more like $350 round trip, maybe $400. Two checked bags free ( up to 50 lbs each ) and 2 carry ons. Baller. Easy flight, not even close to 15 hours airtime, usually more like 9ish when I cross the country.

Weather was pretty miserable last year, but if it holds decent the area is pretty open. Not sure how great the biking would be (or golf, although I believe there's at least one course nearby), but I do know of a section of the Appalachian trail that has a head about 10 minutes from CI if anyone was interested in going for a hike, smoking cigars in the mountains and whatnot.

So everyone knows the amount of cigars consumed last year, for the few of us that were there every day (myself, Brent and Collin) we each smoked between 21 and 25 cigars during the trip (3.25 days).

We arrived and had 2 Tuesday evening and then pure carnage unleashed itself on Wednesday. I gotta admit, getting through the 8 or so on Wednesday was pretty challenging, but luckily we powered through and were up to the task. We weren't tasting much by the end of each evening.

Cutters are ok to take on a plane (lighters are not). But you know there will be plenty of cutters by the bums in attendance as well. I don't think you need to worry if you don't end up bringing one.

It’s a most wonderful ritual, bringing folks from all walks of life together, who sit and do nothing, while accomplishing absolutely nothing… other than enjoying the camaraderie and having your loved ones yell when you arrive home stinking like a tire fire.

The Herf brings out smokers of every class, from newbie 101 to tobacco-toking veterans of decades gone past and everything in between. Now, when attending a decent sized gathering of ash masters, you’ll generally find 5 personality types – some will piss you off, some, you will gravitate to, and some of these leafy archetypes may actually be you. Now, see below, as I present to you these 5 most outrageous characters…

Moocher at every herf:
The Malevolent Moocher…He’s a conniving little shit, with beady eyes and a penchant for removing quality smokes from your travel humidor. You’ll find him and others like him at every damned herf, bumming the finest smokes, because he is indeed, a scathing, bottom feeding bum, 1st class. This miscreant joins his brothers and sisters of the leaf for a day or night of puffing pleasure, but there’s one thing that always seems to be missing… HIS OWN CIGARS! This prick is so cheap, he rides a crowded subway just to get his clothes pressed. He’s a bona fide puro predator, making every excuse why he forgot his box of Padron ‘26’s, because he knows you’ll pity the ingrate, while convincing you to relinquish a stick or two from your stash. Word to the wise… when you see this steaming tobacco turd slithering your way, make sure to just say no… that, and a swift kick to the jimmies will always send the proper message.

Cigar band flasher:
The Cigar Band Flasher…“Ooooh, look at me, look at me,” he’s saying with his gestures, as he waves his Opus X around like the checkered flag guy at the Indy 500. Five or six boxes of Cuban contraband sit on the stool next to him while he lets the entire bar know exactly how much he laid out for the Vegas Robainas that just came in from Geneva. While us regular folk have our bookies and ganja dealers, this Bolivar braggart has his Swiss connection on speed dial, speaking loudly into the phone so even the guys in the kitchen can hear that he’s putting in another hefty order for some real-deal Cohibas. No Life Larry…He shows his face at every Herf, every, every cigar-b-que, every cigar dinner, and every back yard gathering. Why? Because, as the name so clearly illustrates, this torpedo toking dullard has NO life. Just remember guys, if you happen to be flying with a travel Humidor, make sure it has a pressure valve on it or it will be extremely hard to open and you may end up damaging your sticks inside trying to pry it open. I saw somewhere where a guy took a wide mouthed Nalgene bottle and threw a boveda in it. Not a bad idea! I'm trying to decide if I want to bring any or not. Trying to pack as lightly so I do carry on only. Although, I guess I could fill a laptop bag with cigars as they don't count towards your allotment.
