In my opinion the Asylum is a very good to excellent cigar. Especially for the price point. Woody, leathery, spicy flavors with a slight bit of cedary sweetness. Nothing really stands out but it's just a good cigar. I just picked up another 5'er off of C-Bid.

An unexpected three smokes Sunday. Started about nine Am with a Paul Stulac Angel,then mid afternoon smoked a Tatuaje 7th. Finished the day with a Paul Stulac Lord,that ended a little past one AM,so think should be ok to post on this thread.Over the fall/Winter seldom smoked more than two cigars per day,found when smoking three a day,the third was,smoked just to be smoking. No pix. I've yet to make the transition from film to digital. Seems this ole bum doesn't like that new trick.

They're the Monte 2 of the non-cuban world as far as consistency goes...IMO. I've had some that were really good and I've had others that were bland or so so. It's been like this through two boxes so far. I keep my sticks in the 63 to 65 range, maybe I need to dry box em some next time.

Hopefully, you get a really good one: citrus, nuts, leather, etc.

Rabid Figurado. There are better and more refined sticks out there. But for its combination of flavor, strength, body, and price; this is one of my favorites. Especially in this vitola. I just scored a box of the shorties (4.5" X 60 RG) off of CBid so I'll see how those go. I think AJF must have been thinking "I'm going to kick your ass" when he blended this one.

My Father Cedros Deluxe Cervantes,at 6.5" x 44 Ring guage,it's dead center in my favourite size range.
Smoked on front porch, which holds the heat of the Sun,temp 86 F.Humidity 16 degrees. Nicer weather than we've seen in months. Do smoke rather slowly,once lit cigars don't get to rest in the ash tray,this was a 119 minute smoke,that is slow, isn't it? looking at the time, this was yesterday's smoke.Heck,slow smoker,slow to post.

This afternoon I had a 6X54 La Caya Brasil Toro Maduro cigar.:stogie: This cigar has been resting in my 65% rh humidor for 14 months. In the last year I have been in my cigar acquisitions leaning towards the small cigar boutiques in Florida where I obtained this cigar. A lot of these cigars are from small cigar producers who have limited amounts of key tobaccos and produce some great cigars which vary in flavor profile from year to year.:wave: When I lit my Brasil I got a delicious creamy oily coffee and cocoa. The construction of this cigar was excellent with no difficult veins, even burn and excellent draw. This cigar looked beautiful with its deep brown maduro wrapper and had a sweet coffee prelight aroma.:thumb: This cigar is definitely medium bodied and I enjoyed it down to the nub. I topped off this smoke with a large hot cup of coffee which went so well with this stick and I had a wonderful afternoon.:fly:

I had a Montecristo Classic Toro last night. For my enjoyment I was able to have a fine cigar with my nephew who just returned from Sierra Leone helping with the ebola crisis there. He is a medic in the Canadian Armed Forces and he had a lot of interesting stories to share. What an awesome night. I made sure that I sent him home with a travel humidor filled with smokeable goodies.

So I just smoked my first Gurkha. I have heard a lot of negative things about Gurkha's so they were never on my to do list but I got some Viper's in a sample pack. It was "ok" but I would never go out and buy any. Love the box press shape with the torpedo like foot but the burn had to be fixed a couple of times.

A Tatiana Mocha gifted from Lynn during my break from the hospital today. My wife loved the smell, and the taste was not horrible, but the construction was the worst I have ever seen, even for a short filler cigar.

I'd still smoke it over a few others if forced to choose though, so I guess thats a good thing.

youre really brave to post that...I hated it..my neighbor hated it....made me want a glass of milk to go with it...never gona get anymore of them...but Im glad you had a chance to try it...the others I promise will be better..keep standing strong best wishes Lynn

The was my first Herrera Esteli. Really nice smoke. Wrapper was a disaster on this one though.

At the risk of gushing, this cigar was awesome. I've smoked several of these and enjoyed them but this one was different. Bigger more complex flavors. Perfect performance. 3+ years in humi, maybe? Anyway, really good.

Great smoke but I've had a few bad wrappers myself.

Yep, that's what it was. It was bizarre. Sounded like a bowl of Rice Krispies as the wrapper popped apart while I was smoking. Not about to give up on the blend though. The flavors were terrific. I'll have to try another vitola.
