I have loved every Warped cigar I have tried, but haven't had that one. Is it as freaking delicious as I think it is? No, don't tell me, I don't have the money right now. Let me just dream in doubt. Geesh!

It was only 100 today, so decided to take advantage of the cool spell and sit out back. The Undercrown is just over 2 years old and holding up just fine. A nip of the creature goes just fine with it too.

You've gotten an early start on the day, something I wish I'd done, one more cup of coffee and I'll light up a Quesadad Reserva Privada...4.75x54.
The choice of cigar is a bit tricky, choose a larger size and I run the risk of being driven indoors or being consumed by the heat at a faster rate than
the cigar.Hopefully today's temps will not achieve the scorch level Wednesday's reached.

Quite a bit!
If I had to put a number on it I would say about 50%. Still get the sweetness but it is different from when I first got them. If I ever get more I will not sit on them, they will get sparked within weeks.

Those Obsidian's get so much better with some rest, like The Ramon Bueso Genesis! Good budget smoke relatively ROTT, but definitely better with at least 6 months on them IMHO.

the cellophane gets darker, the cigars retain the taste as they smoke smoother.

Despite all the calamities in our modern world, we've at least made cross-culture attainable to most and that's to be admired. If we, as a species, survive another 1000 years it may, in part, be due to our appreciation of other cultures that spans borders.
So Bob, in your own (small) way, your evening saved humanity! :)
I continue to do penance, smoking up buying mistakes of my past, although I did sneak a delicious Pueblo Dominicana Toro last night between the Espinosa Sequel Robusto, 2 x John Bull Bulldog and 2 x Torano Colisseum Robusto.
This morning is another Sequel, but a Churchill. Yum, another 2 inches of mediocrity. To be fair, these cost me ~.85c a stick (shipped).
I'll post a comparison of these sticks in Reviews. Hope you're having a beautiful morning.

Espinosa Sequel Robusto.
Palma Real Lonsdale.
Cinco Vegas Double Nickel (smoking now).
With 2 years of age this Double Nickel is very nice and makes me think that I should buy some more of them to cellar. Of course then I wake up and think that I'm a schmuck because I have sooooo many cigars that I've bought (in and out of my right mind) that are waiting to be smoked.

Hi Harvey,
I generally agree with your assessment of Cinco (5) Vegas but after a couple of years the Gold (Ecuador CT wrapper) turned into a nice smoke although they all don't finish particularly well. So is it worth $1.00? Yes, if you can keep it in your box a while.
I wrote a comparison of cigars that use this wrapper that I'm about to post (can't figure out where I should put it on the forum).

Steve have you noticed any tar in the 888? I'm pretty sure I have had 6-7 including one I think you sent me and all of them (from all different sources) had tar in the head start bubbling after the first third
I love the vitola but I swore them off after so many went south

What kind of cut have you been using?
I haven't had this particular cigar, but when I first started out I used a punch and had a few incidents with the dreaded tar. Especially with the smaller RG.

Always a perfect cutter, the 888 is semi torpedo tipped so it would be hard to punch it. Even when the tar started showing itself I would cut it down 2 or 3 more times to see if that got past it and no dice

Hey Joel, I have smoked 4 or 5 so far and haven't had any tar problems. I also use a perfect cutter and clip it 3 times before smoking. I am a very slow smoker and draw pretty lightly also. I don't remember ever having a tar problem with any cigar these last 2 years. Maybe the 888 is only for pussy puffers. I have loved every one I have put my lips on. Dang, that turned south in a hurry!

I bought a few of these a month or so back from a fellow bum. He wasn't sure exactly how old they are, but the yellow cello leads me to believe they're pretty well aged - I smoked a 2 year old MF #4 earlier this year that showed no yellowing at all. Whatever the case, this is smoking awesome right now. Even the retrohale is smooth, while on a fresh one the retro is pretty strong with pepper.
I grabbed a box earlier this year and looks like they're going to age as well as I hoped.

Smoked a fair amount of the My Fathers, all or most sizes. Until finding the Paul Stulac lines recently.
All I was smoking were Don Pepin Garcia products, his lines along with the Tatuaje,Cabaiguans etc.
Do like the Pepper hit, reading your post realize I am now barely aware of it even on the retrohale.
Perhaps the absence of a pepper note may play a part in my disenchantment with some cigars from other makers.
Maybe...
One man's poison is another's pure pleasure when it comes to cigars?

For sure, I love the pepper. When I first started into cigars, I loved Dominicans. Now when I look back at my purchases for the last year year I'm buying Don Pepin Garcia, Oliva Serie V, and some Tatuaje like you mentioned. I still smoke a milder one sometimes, but typically I'm chasing some spiciness these days.
I guess I need to check out a Paul Stulac now, if they fall into the My Father kind of flavors.

Earlier, on Sunday, Grimalkin Robusto 5x50.....good cigar...tho had to smoke it indoors, couldn't deal with the heat on front porch.
About to select a cigar to enjoy on the porch now that it's cooled sown a bit.
Feeling like a nice taste of Lena Ph. and Charmaine Cl. required to elevate the mood.

I really need to get more of those. My wife picked some up on a trip to see family in PA last year. I loved them but have not ordered any since. It's a cigar you don't hear much about.

Puffing away at a Xikar HC Maduro. Picked it up cheap on the devil site the other day. It's okay, nice flavor if a bit harsh. I think the rest of them need to convalesce a while. Lots of smoke :) Medium/strong in the Vitamin N department. Wrapper splitting a bit at the head, but I think I have a dull cutter.

I rated these the best of the Ecuador Connecticut wrapper cigars in my post and this one is reinforcing that contention.
More flavor, presence and snap, with a smooth and rich aftertaste. The tastes are nicely balanced and I prefer them to the Oliva Connecticut.

Alec Bradley Black Market Toro...smoked at about 4:30 AM...before this day had a chance to turn the heat all the way up.
First Alec Bradley I've had in some time, maybe 4-5 years. This cigar had more than a year's rest before it was lit, received from Dijit in NST.
I don't age or rest cigars. So not always smoking anything that has much age on it.
This Black Market (first of that line I've smoked) was easily the best cigar I've had from that maker.....thanks Dijit.

Just lit a Paul Stulac White Blinding Light Robusto one of my current favourites, tho I do wish it was in a smaller Ring Gauge than it's 5x54 size.
The Paul Stulac cigars of the same blend/line are very consistant in terms of flavour, over all smoking experience, excellent construction, nice even born, etc.
However, sure do wish he would produce at least one in a Corona size.

I prefer the standard Mi Amor. Has more of a fresh, less dense profile. I notice more flavor shifts with the Mi Amor as well. I find pleasing flavors with the Reserva, just more muddled and dense.
I'm going to dry box a Reserva and see if that helps it. I think it's a cigar that will lend itself quite nicely to some good ol' fashion dry boxing...

2012 Pueblo Dominicano Robusto. Iced water and Paul Desmond as the sun sets, may read more of A Fire In The East later.
I think that I'll do a review of this line, they certainly deserve it.

Good Luck to the Bills. I'm lifelong Jets fan and have found that I'm following the Bills this year because of Rex. He was a better coach than the last few years show (they dismantled the team without rebuilding). I think that you have, with even mediocre QB play, a good season ahead of you.

Have not smoked this cigar...but have heard that it is one of those "flying under the Radar" cigars that at a decent price point is surprisingly good smoke.
So...will be looking forwards to your review.

Hi James,
I haven't seen them on the Devil Sight for a long time and Cigars.Com and CigarsInternational don't have them either.
Last smoke of the night will be an oldie to avoid the split wrapper on the last like it that I had

Hmmmm....looks like they've disappeared. Maybe the've been blown out and are no longer available? Meh...there is a never ending conga line of smokes with similar qualities that fill that niche. It's just a matter of figuring out which ones are worth grabbing before they go the way of their predecessors. Like shark's teeth, they do their job for a time, and after a certain amount of wear and tear, get replaced.
Love Stan Getz....the epitome of bossanova cool.

Conga Line is a neat analogy and I agree for most cigars but not for the Pueblo Dominicano.
Only a few cigar companies have the clout to buy leaf for a consistent product over time so the small company model is to buy leaf that's available, make a blend and create or recycle a marque. Hopefully it sells. That's why I buy heavily when I've found something like the Pueblo but I've bought pooch douches too.
Smoking a conga-line 2013 Rocky Patel The Edge. Of course it's inconsistent, has some moments, but I could have bought Pueblos instead.

My father Robusto...5.2x52...quite likely the "oldest' in terms of it's time in my Humidor, cigar I have...seven to nine months.
Also the last of the box. Like the look of the wrapper in the Sunlight and the cigar is smoking very smoothly.
LE Corona's still my #1 choice from the My Father line, do like that size.
Haven't checked temp or Humidity today but after one helluva lot of rain overnight, air quality's much improved.

May well contribute more than little to your enjoyment of your smoke tonight.
And,that is as it should be.
Good news is indeed good news.
Have been thinking off and on about revisiting some of the Toranos, haven't had any in several years,
recall the Robustos I smoked, as being very consistant box after box. Quite sure Torano has put out some new lines fairly recently,
it's about time I picked a few up. Have a greater variety of brands ,sizes, more variety in the Wrappers, etc
now even tho I've but a limited number of cigars. As I recall the Torano Maduro and Natural Robustos were worlds apart, and good smokes.
Time for me to find one more cigar to cap off this evening.

Hi Bob,
Can't offer too much insight about Torano. I've smoked the Colisseum (~50), Loyal (~7) and a few other sticks here and there (Exodus), all purchased in 2012/2013.
First batch of Colisseum were good, medium bodied, sweet with a touch of spice with acceptable and consistent construction so I bought several bundles a few months later that have been inferior and less consistent.
I bought the box of Loyal on price (< $30) but the 56 RG Robusto is thicker than I like. The Loyal that I smoked last night is the best that I've tried but the others have been all over the place.
I expect that the Colisseum (at least a partial 'exclusive' of CI) and Loyal are not of the quality of the Torano that you've enjoyed.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for your information regarding the Torano cigars.
Those I smoked, and it was about seven years ago.All had several years of age on them when I purchased them.
That time spent in a distributors warehouse at constant temp/humidity ...so more or less perfect conditions for aging.
I'm thinking to try just those "core"lines again. The boxes I had were either Robusto or Toro sizes.
Yesterday was the first or second day this year that I smoked only one cigar.
Picking my first for today, should allow a chance to see ,if with a bit of focus, I'll be able to sense more of the flavour
changes as the cigar is reduced to ashes.
