I tried 2 of the small shorty cigars I recently bought.

The CAO Gold Karat was nice. It was indeed a bit more flavorful than the Robustos I've been smoking and like.

I also smoked a Villiger Export Brasil and was less enamored with it. About halfway through it it became a little better but I'll not be buying those again.

I forgot to mention that the CAOs stated they used long filler for the small stick.

The Villiger was fully open at either end. For the price I'm sure it's scraps. Being open as they are they couldn't be small scraps.

Wednesday afternoon a Grimalkin Robusto ROTT, first time to smoke one of these. Think they're said to be full bodied, full strength. I'd say a solid medium strength maybe edging towards full bodied toward the end. As per usual, in view of the maker,no touch up/relights needed at any time.
Tho I'm a slow smoker was a bit surprised that a 5 x 50 lasted more than two hours before being nubbed.
Do expect I'll enjoy smoking more of these.

Villiger was, and in Europe may still be Cuban, but they are a dry smoke. In most of Europe f you aren't able to locate a tobacconist to get some good cigars, you will do well to avoid purchasing cigars at Railroad stations. Those cigars may be in counter top humidors, humidors that may never have been working, the cigars may've been sitting there for several months or even years. Best bet is to locate a street corner Kiosk, where you will likely find in addition to Newspapers, cigarettes, etc boxes of Villiger you can get your fix and make it thru the day.Villiger can be a helluva lot better friend than Googly.

If you can find them try to get your hands on the Surrogates cracker crumbs, and/or La'telier Traviulers or however you spell it. They are short smokes no cap but taste great and I'm pretty sure they are long filler because the ash stays on for about half the cigar. They come in 5 packs for around $15

How long could I expect the ash to stay attached on a short-filler small cigar?

I intend to look and see if CI has a specific small cigar section. It's a bit strange to me how their site is set up in that I can look for a specific cigar but it won't show me the singles of them. Have to do another search.

I have not tried the Brasil yet but the Maduro ones are rather nice. Especially not needing to keep them in a humidor. I always have a pack in my truck in case I forget something better or just want a short one while driving.

I think it can vary depending on just how much long filler there is. I've had a few of the Tabacos Baez SF which is peppins short filler sometimes it would hold for an inch some times it would only be 1/4.

Another disappointing stick. Macanudo 1968. If it tasted as good as it smelled, that'd be something. But no.... Mac is 3 for 5 with me. I do like the Cafe once in a while, I like the Maduro, I LIKE Cru Royale. Robust and 1968, however....

When they said that they'd put some work into getting these right, they knew that meant once you've smoked one, you'd know the sales pitch wasn't just a lot of hyperbole, or snakeoil. The HR is a darn good smoke don't know if you have tried the other sizes in the line yet or not.So far I have only smoked the Hermoso, will try the others which if they smoke as well as this size there can be no doubt. The HR line is Top Shelf.
Me? I'm happy that they have this in the Hermoso size.
Extremely good looking ash tray there, it aids in letting you appreciate the colour of the cigar tobacco and helps the gold on the band really shine.
Nice work there.
Thanks.

Right now Ive just started on one my last Cubaos, spacing out smoking them since they seem to be gone for good.

Have I cracked the code...[ keep these damn golfers in line]...meaning *In the line of fire* ??

Do you use a neat DayGlo sign reading: FREE BEER...RIGHT HERE !!
to get them all bunched up, sort of like the * fish in a rainbarrel* ??

Noted: How very aptly your choice of cigar fits the theme ?

Happy hunting...and smoking as well.

After one of each, I thought I preferred the Federation, but after the 2nd Dojo, I'm not so sure.? The first Dojo had some problems with uneven burn, splitting wrapper and unraveling at the head and I feel this affected the flavored. To be fair though, it might have needed a bit more recovery time in the humidor or could have been an odd-ball. This one didn't have any of those issues and I enjoyed the transitions throughout. Need to smoke another Fed to compare. You are right though, they both mellowed in the final third.

I didn't taste bitter at all. Just a lack of flavor and kick I usually get from the MOW line. Either way MOW will always be a staple in my Humi. A lot of good value in them I believe.

I like this one too!

Halfway through it and I see it's more smokey than what I've been smoking. I also notice it seems a little less firm as though it was rolled a bit loose.

Oh I have one of those that may burn this weekend. How was it ?

I am taking a Tatuaje Reserva SW you sent me to the golf course tomorrow. Hope it has some good mojo. It will probably be better than my golf shots.

Tonight I am really enjoying a La Palina Classic corona I snagged in the Small Cigar Pass

Had a "National Brand" robusto earlier during an hour long drive. Not sure which wrapper it was. Picked it up because I wanted something I could toss and did not have time to head home.

It was not half bad actually.

You're smoking a limited edition?!? Stop the madness! Anyway I enjoyed it quite a bit. Now this may border on Tat blasphemy but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as others appear to though. I think it'll be up your alley though.

Sosa limited 3rd harvest I think it was a corona. I must admit after a year of aging this has become a surprisingly smooth smoke. I mean I have always liked these but this was unexpectedly good.

Brisket and ribs on the smoker, headed out fishin' with my boy. Cant decide which after dinner b-day smoke I should go with.

The 2012 BBMF Maduro is an unknown but I expect great things, the 2012 BHK 54 and EL 520 are on the upswing and well, the No 9 just never lets me down.

Nice lineup for sure. Close your eyes, mix them up and grab one blind. Whichever one you get, I say nice choice!
