I am a big fan of peppery smokes so i liked it a ton but thank god it was a corona sized smoke.

It has about 7 months of rest on it and is much better than a few months ago. And much better than the 4 bucks I paid for it on cbid. It's the gorditos vitola. A little large for my liking, but an enjoyable respite nonetheless.

This is from one of the first 5ers I ever bought when I got heavy into the hobby in April 2013. I can't believe this cigar used to make my head spin. Real nice wood and spice flavors and it's fairly creamy. Pretty nice.

Damn good cigar. Lots of earth and espresso with a little black pepper on the finish. Not incredibly complex but great flavor and perfect burn. Just a little stronger and not as sweet as the Project. I like them both a lot.

May 22, 2011 at 5:41pm a nearly mile wide tornado tore thru my small town killing 161 people. At 5:41 today I lit a Fuente Casa Cuba in remembrance of those who perished and those physically and emotional injured. I lost several friends that day.

My wife and I were babysitting our youngest granddaughter and somehow survived uninjured in a bathtub off the hallway. Our house had 1 wall left standing, we were trapped by debris (saved our lives) and we lost everything except each other. Our workplace was also destroyed and several death occurred there. 12 of our neighbors were killed as well.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who had their lives so adversely affected that day.

Now, to enjoy this cigar.

About to light up my second ever Hammer + Sickle Tradicion Serie. I had my first one of these a few weeks ago with a friend who is a fan. These were completely off my radar - it was a good cigar. I guess I should expect that seeing as it is blended by Henke Kelner (yes, THAT Henke Kelner). Now I see that this cigar got a 93 in the latest Cigar Aficionado. Hmm... Where have I been?

If this one is as good as the first, I will be purchasing some.

EDIT: well this second one was also great - this is a good, mild cigar. Very "Davidoffesque", which I guess is not surprising considering Henke is behind the blend. Every once in a while, there were some little notes of spice, but a well balanced smoke. Lots of muted "leather". Great construction as well. For those looking for a good mild smoke, these are worth a try. I'm going to pick some up.

My Father La Antiquedad Corona Grande 6 x 47, about the halfway point smoking this one. Am a slow smoker,very slow, but noticing that this cigar does indeed burn slowly. One that I think comes in at near the upper end of medium.

ETA: Great cigar! Very reminiscent of a Tat Black CG with a little more kick and some extra spice. Draw was a little tight at first but it opened up nicely after the first 3rd.

After a long night/early morning of pushing water out of the back of the house and garage, I decided to have an Irish coffee with a Davidoff 4x4. We've had an incredible amount of rain over the last 2-3 weeks and there's no where else for the water to go but up (see Noah's Ark). Looks like we have more coming all through the weekend. A town south of us called Stigler has already received 17.80 inches over the last 14 days and they got more last night. If anybody needs a large quantity of cigars stored, my house is basically a humidor at this present time and I have reasonable rates. Also, hats off to all of our serviceman and women.....

This afternoon's smoke was a Cubao #1...7.25x47, very nice smoke, two hours and eight minutes of enjoyment. Down the last few of the Cubao, I don't age any cigars, nor do I rest any longer than it takes to smoke them. The Cubao have had the longest time in the humidor because one I'd picked up two boxes and went looking for more only to find that they're no more. Have tried my best to let the few left nap, so long as I can. Don't know how long they've had, likely six or eight months. One more brand or line I'll miss, along with the Don Pepin Vegas Cubanas.
About 50 minutes into a Tatuaje 7th Natural, 5.6x46 and that's it for the day/night
