So I'm at my local shop yesterday, sitting at the table of knowledge, solving all of our country's problems when for some crazy reason the conversation turned to pipes.
We're talking about different brands, finishes and shapes. I mention that I have acquired several large bowled pipes and am now concentrating on getting a few smaller bowls. This older guy sitting next to me pulls out a beautiful Savinelli Bing's Favorite and says, "I bought this pipe and I can't even remember why I don't like it, but I never smoke it. Take it."
I felt kind of awkward for a minute and try to politely tell him he doesn't need to give me his pipe, but he insisted that I take it. So I have a nearly new $100 Savinelli. He's just a nice guy who wanted to give me a pipe. I found out what his favorite cigar is (LFD single ligero) so I'm gonna buy him a few of them and take them to him next Saturday.
Very nice and generous guy. Here's the pipe.
