Let's say you knew a guy that was mostly an aromatic pipe smoker & you wanted to recommend a Virginia Perique blend, to ease 'em into it... What would be your top 5 list?

Just curious; thx!

This would be my list of vapers for an aro guy to try: ( in no particular order)

Samuel Gawith Springtime Flake maybe?
H&H Louisiana Red - sweet!
H&H Anniversary Kake - small rum note
H&H AJ's Vaper - solid, easy-going vaper
Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake - cavendish center adds smoothness and sweetness
Seattle Pipe Club Mississippi River - Not really a vaper, but it has both.

Here's a few I like

Sam Gawith St. James Flake
G&H Louisana Flake (if you don't mind a little geranium rose)
Escudo

+1 on Anni Kake for sure
+1 on AJ's VaPer

Pretty sure he said "ease in" not "punch me in the face" [emoji13]

I have to reccamend both AJ's and Anny Cake as well. Both are great, easy going VaPer's

I agree with AJ's but would add Peter Stokkebye's Lux Navy Flake

Hey Mark.
Glad you made it over here amigo.

Vapers are my main blend. Easily 75% of what I smoke are of that variety.

Lot of good suggestions so far. I would certainly agree that Escudo should be at the top of your list. It is pretty much the quintessential Vaper. Grassy and a little sweet and spicy with a fresh baked bread note in both the room note and taste.

A few others I would suggest are H&H Virginia Spice (that one has some cigar leaf as well), Samuel Gawith St James Flake, Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture, Rattray's Hal o the Wynd and Rattray's Marlin Flake. All of these have a spot in my normal rotation.

Again, welcome aboard.

I haven't tried as many VaPer's as I'd like but I'd second one from BryGuySC's list with the Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake. Very much enjoyed this stuff

Might have point, Grasshoper. Louisiana Flake can be a wee bit spicy :p

C&D Night Train came to mind as well but that one might deliver a beatdown as well

Rock on, guys; thx so much!! I believe I've got a little bit of the Luxury Bullseye Flake that's been sent over to me; I'll try & light up a bowl soon & let y'all know how it goes... Appreciate y'all!!

Solani 633 "Virginia with Perique" has become my favorite VaPer. It doesn't have any aromatic character (a plus IMO), but it's a soft-smoking, tasty tobacco. Just finished a bowl about half an hour ago. And it has the prettiest tin label ever. :)

BTW – Your aromatic-smoking friend might not have any experience with flake tobacco. If you choose a flake for him, he might need some guidance.
