I just saw this on a firearms forum:
FDA Chooses Option 1, Will Regulate Premium Cigars | halfwheel (http://halfwheel.com/fda-chooses-option-1-will-regulate-premium-cigars/113855?utm_content=bufferf4084&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer)
I didn't see anything about pipe tobacco, but in any case, I hope this part:
"Products that were marked prior to Feb 15, 2007 are considered grandfathered and as such are exempt from FDA regulation."
Means that most of the stuff that I smoke is exempt.

I saw something about that today too. Said it was mostly about regulating e-cigs, but you know how the government is.

Woke up and realized we're just screwed,,,,,They don't care what the truth is.

For sure, this is a combination punch – a thinly-disguised tax and simple harassment.

I don't smoke often but I'm sitting on enough bakky to bequeath pounds to my great grand children. You might say I saw this coming a few years ago.

Was it Phineas Freak of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers* who said something like "Tobacco will get your through times of no money better than money will get you trough times of no tobacco"? He actually used a different word for tobacco.

Haebar - Freak Bros was very prescient. I wonder how many of that generation stockpiled decades worth of the soothing substance of their choice, much as many of us are filling up cabinets with pipe blends.

I thought it was Fat Freddy that said that, but as my wife will tell ya, I'm often wrong.

I believe this applies to cigars, pipe tobacco, ecigs...stuff they realized they weren't taxing to the hilt. When my sons were small, if they were doing something that made me worry for their safety, I stopped them, not took part of their allowance.

Okay, thanks. I knew someone would know for sure.
