Hi guys,

I'm new to the cigar forum and wanted to say hi. My name is GrouchoM and I'm from Texas. I've been smoking cigars for 3 mths and have a small tupidor of sticks. As a new cigar smoker, I'm still figuring out what I like palate-wise. I started with Factory throwouts #49, #59 & #99 because they were inexpensive and easy smokes, but I have since worked up recently to maduros, C&C toro maduros to be exact (which have a lot of flavor). I'm an unemployed student who was introduce to cigars by a buddy, but only got serious recently after having one on New Year Eve. The brands I've smoked so far are nothing to write home about: Brioso, Bacarract, Sancho Panza, National, Cuban Seed, Casa de Bella and Punch.

Look forward to learning more about cigars and meeting more cigar lovers.

I'm new here as well, welcome!

About ten years ago, I started with some cigars from Thompson that I never heard of.

It almost ruined cigars for me, but I had to start somewhere!

See you around!

Welcome, welcome - we take in all Bums, even young unemployed students !
And we all started on sticks like the ones you mentioned, but you can only smoke what you can afford to, right ?
Nice to meet you :beerchug:

Welcome Groucho! That's how I got started too. I'm not sure if you know about some of the deal sites like CigarBid and Cigar Monster. If not, you might want to check them out. Some of my favorite maduros that you can usually get $3-$6 a stick: Illusione Rothchildes (if you haven't had them, you should find them!), Sancho Panza Double Maduro, 601 Blue, Diesel Unholy Cocktail, Anything Fuente, Padron 2000 maduro.

Feel free to ask any questions you have, there's an awesome group of guys here who are always willing to help.

Don't worry about that guy, he's harmless...mostly. Welcome to the bum, the friendliest people you'll ever meet hang out here. My only recommendation would be to start stocking up on mailboxes! [emoji83]

I opened an account on C-bid. It was freaking awesome. Checked out Cigar Monster and stopped short of opening an account. Why? Because a little voice in the back of my head said "remember this as the moment it happened..." But, will be back after I man up enough courage. It's intense.

Thanks again great calls.

Hello Nurse!

Ok, I took care of that thing you mentioned...and nobody's the wiser...i.e. somebody who shall not be mentioned "sleeps with the fishes". I also found time to updated my profile since I registered on a cell phone and needed a whatchamacallit "laptop" to access the full site and give them my particulars. Was like getting grilled by the coppers but all digital and what not. Now, we're all square!

Hey,

What’s up with you guys and mailboxes? That's the 3-4 reference since I've join. I'd it a fetish thing? Also Lynn you're starting to effect my dreams, but in a psycho fantasy horror fest kind of way...good times, but you do know there was a unicorn in that movie. So, maybe a "My Little Pony" reference every so often IJS.

Funny...odd...but funny. Again with the mailboxes. But, not that there's anything wrong with that. I hear they have support groups for that, but I'm not interested. Because I'm not a quitter. Mailboxes, goldfish or garden gnomes, it's all good if you're into that kind of stuff.

Awe, from what I've seen this is the tricycle w training wheels with tassels and a card in the spokes and a bulb wonk-a-wonka bike horn...and exactly what mines looks like. I dream about the Harley Electroglide Road masters many of you'll have...humi-envy. It's a real thing.
Take it from the guy with all of three months of experience under my belt, don't rush in to buying a humidor. I started out with a 50 cigar humidor in November and by January I had outgrown it. Stick with the tricycle until you figure out what your buying and smoking habits are going to be. Not to mention the occasional front porch and mailbox carnage. Then and only then, buy a wine-a-dor four sizes bigger than what you think you need!
