Well the wife wanted to go to flea markets and antique stores because she was wanting a desk to spruce up. I never mind going to these because I'm always on the lookout for estate pipes so I agreed.

Well, I didn't have much luck in the estate pipe department but I was looking in a booth at one and saw two ammo cans. I considered buying them, as the price was pretty good for the cans. On a whim I opened one and much to my surprise, saw it was lined with Spanish cedar. I quickly grabbed the other one and sure enough, it was as well. Then I noticed in a corner near the bottom was the Surgeon General's warning.

So they're not complete, as they do not have humidifiers or hydrometers, but they have the cedar custom fit. The corners are even cut on 45 degree angles. Very nice.

Now to buy a couple of Boveda seasoning packs and a couple Heartfelt tubes and I'll be ready.

I enjoy it a lot.
Most of the time, you come home empty handed but every now and then you find a diamond in the rough.

Most of the time when you ask about pipes or cigar related items you'll be directed to used cobs that they want $10 for or very used Dr. Grabows for $20-$25 (nothing against Dr. Grabow pipes but they're around $30-$35 brand new). But every now and then you find something that is memorable.

In the last year I have found, a pipe rack for $5, a pre-Republic Peterson pipe in excellent condition for $20 and now these ammo can humidors. This one was totally unexpected.

Those are nice. I scour the local flea markets and Junque shops regularly. I mostly look for lighters and older tobacco related stuff. I'd have snagged those in a second. Nice score!

Yeah, I'm thinking of keeping everyday sticks in one and then top shelf stuff and CCs in the other.
