I have that one friend that likes cigars when i give him one but says he would like it more if he got more of a buzz. Seems like full strength isn't enough, the strongest thing I have had to give him is a Diesel Unlimited. In the grand scheme of things and not having tons of brands of sticks under my belt not sure how full a Diesel really is comparatively to other full cigars. Other friends I have given them too have had some good results in getting buzzed as well as myself.
I want to get some suggestions for something that even for seasoned vets knocks your socks off. I know how fast he smokes it has something to do with it and it could be a person by person effectiveness but still interested in ideas of those full and beyond cigars. I know there are a lot of outside factors that can affect it as well like food or drink. Not doing this with malicious intent to kill him or make him sick just want to give him what he wants one time so he can feel some results, if he just has a high tolerance for nicotine. Maybe he can get a really good stick and realize what he wants, as I think he would buy a box.

Gave a golf buddy a CAO Rabid Reindeer that he said gave him a buzz and really screwed up his golf game. He only smokes on the course when I give him one and he's had LFD's and other full sticks before but that was the one that he had to put down (usually burns his lips) and said he didn't mind not having another.
I haven't tried it yet myself - bombed out the ones I grabbed and just bought some more, but DogRockets loves these things so maybe he can weigh in on it.
I've heard some of the Obsidian and the Cu Avana Punisher are really strong smokes.

I've heard LFD's Double Ligero and N.A.S. are strong, never tried them myself though.

Joya De Nicaragua Antano 1970 always gives me a buzz. I like the Gran Consul format.

Drew Estate Nica Rustica gives me a good Vitamin N kick. Good stick too.

Jericho Hill's tend to get me on it...not sure how it compares to others, but from what I've had it's the strongest in my humidor.

I have not found the Rabid Reindeer to be that strong at all, not compared to a Diesel anyway. I still have a few left and try to savor them as I can.
I will second the Nica Rustica recommendation. The La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor, and reserva also tend to get me a good nic hit as well. Some of the Man'O'War ones can pack a kick too, but those are a bit harder for you to find locally.

I've heard that the RoMaCraft Neanderthals are really strong. If I'm not mistaken, Will Cooper said it was the strongest cigar he's ever smoked.

Like Hardheaded mentioned, I don't find the Rabid Reindeer to be a strong smoke at all, especially compared to a Diesel UHC

LFD Double Ligero as already mentioned.
Viva Republica Guerrilla Warfare is a stout little sucker too. The little baby sized mini corona is the only cigar that's buzzed me in a while.
I'm a nic junky when it comes to cigars so this is right up my alley. Granted I don't get a buzz anymore. My recommendations....

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions! Sounds like it's going to be a JDN or LFD as I think those are in his price range.

I 2nd the Punisher. I had one of "those" friends too and this one shut him up. It may have been the cayenne they seem to roll these in...made my lips burn like crazy. not enjoyable at all to me

restomod, +1 JDN's, Both Antano and Dark Corojo, as well as for the LFD Double Ligero. Make it a maduro DL and its even stronger. Diesels, UHC, Wicked and Unlimited Maduro. Viaje, Ten Ton Tess, Honey and Hand Grenades, and the Zombie Antidote. I thank those of y'all that mentioned Neanderthal. I am still looking for that BA stick that I can barely smoke. Must find one.

+1 on the LFD Double Ligero, the B&A Entubar, and the Punisher.
The Entubar is one that flies under the radar. Not a bad smoke.

Oh yes - Fausto kicked my ass. Forgot about that one.
Camacho Triple Maduro did me in one time, but that might have been since I smoked on a empty stomach. :grey:

So is nicotine subjective like everything else? I've seen a few things mentioned that don't bother me but others that no one mentioned that kicked my but.

i think so an also i think a lot of pre cigar smoking and what you are drinking has to do with it. smoking on a empty stomach can really do you in and also if someone is drinking soda they have the sugar to help keep nicotine in control. i have smoke the jdn and i love them. didnt lay me out. i also had the Neanderthal and i loved it as well and didnt hurt me. i did have a LFD air bender at an event on an empty stomach and that one started to do me in towards the end but i was also very new to smoking at that time.

I understand all the pre smoking stuff. I try to never smoke on an empty stomach, unless I know it's a super mild cigar in the morning or something. I know people have different tolerances, but for instance Jericho Hill and Nica rustica were mentioned as being strong. I've never had issues with either one of those. But the other night I smoked an almost 4 year old Oliva V while drinking a coke and I got a little woozy when I finished. I only mentioned the age because I also thought nicotine dissipates over time.

Saddly the Punishers are discontinued. They are great for a strong cigar.
The Surrogate Skull crusher? Skull Breaker? is a nice strong cigar also the Tatuaje Fausto and Avion.

Gonna have to hit you with some RG when I get to a comp. I think your the first person I've crossed paths with that's had a B&A. I've only smoked a few and it's been a while but I remember them packing some kick. Cool format as well.

I think your just seeing the difference between peoples tolerances. Personally I would consider those more of a heavy medium but not full strength.
Somewhat on topic... While flavor and strength are two different things I think spice has a way of making cigars seem stronger than they are. A really peppery cigar will smoke heavier than a smooth cigar of the same strength IMO. Sometimes the power is in the profile you could say.

It could also be that I had a bit of an empty stomach both times I've had a Nica Rustica. I usually smoke a few hours after dinner, so that very well could have skewed my perception of it being strong or not.

I met Al Argenti at an event at my B&M a while back, and tried many if not most of his lines. Interesting stuff for sure. Lil Brown still has a bunch of BandA cigars, although I have read that the brand is no more. Dunno for sure on that.

Yup, that Jericho hill was on a weird night, but my friend and I who both usually have no issue's with strength got hit pretty hard by it. On the other hand, I've never had a problem or thought the Nica Rustica packed a punch.
