2016 is upon us bums. And enough with the lose weight or save money resolutions....what are your cigar resolutions for 2016?

Mine would be to buy smoke more cigars with other cigar lovers. It's so easy to let time slip. Now is the time for cigar smoking brotherhood!

Also I'd say a resolution of mine is to buy less limited production cigars. You can go crazy chasing them!

Mine is to ramp up my cigar budget per month and buy all kinds of stuff expensive and inexpensive. I would like to get in on some passes and maws and have some sticks to do so. Oh and bomb as many people as I can, I owe a lot of bums.

Mine is to go liga crazy and get some more unico boxes and make it to cigarfest this year and the Connecticut barn smoker event again as well. Also restart the search for a cheap wine cooler for a winador to consolidate my collection lol

I'd like to build up a little more of a stock to keep on hand.
I generally have around 20 sticks or so in the tupperdore. I'd like to have a little better selection on hand.

Oh, really ?!?! LOL

I'm going to try and make more an effort to get to a herf, shindig, B&M or whatever to try and sit and smoke a stick with a fellow Bum or three.
I only ever get to smoke by myself or with my regular golf buddies and I'd like to meet some of you Bums - even you Mr. Rockets :poke:
That and continue to try as many different sticks as I can to discover hidden gems I know are out there :thumb:

Let me clarify my thoughts on limited production or release cigars. Tatuaje Monsters don't count! Since they get released every couple of years in a new size I don't consider them too limited...makes sense right? Plus, if you buy enough of them they aren't limited to you!

Would love to herf my man! Horseshoe is going to have a cigar bum herf at his house when it's completed for all of us to attend. Then we can go to a local lake and cruise around on a pontoon boat for the inaugural Cigar Bum Speedo Cruise! Book it now!

My cigar resolution is to buy less and smoke more. One stick a month while buying a box a month doesn't make much sense. On the flip side, I want to get my house done so I can start my cigar lounge to allow me the opportunity to smoke more no matter what the weather is like. Heck, I might even put a TV in there with NFL ticket to give DogRockets a place to sit and watch the bungholes play.

Yeah Tat helped me out there. I had been buying some Viaje lately but won't anymore I think.

I would like to consolidate my stash a bit and move it more towards quantities of cigars I know I enjoy and less of a huge variety of singles. This means box purchases over singles/fivers and I'd like to send out some bombs of the decent stuff and donate a good bit to the troops! Finally I'd like to expand my collection into a few coffins.

I resolve to not buy into the hype. Too many boutique companies are selling via the cult of personality ala DE. I like Steve Saka but the Sobremesa is a terrible cigar. The El Gueguenese from Foundation is OK but certainly nothing to write home about. All hat, no cattle.

i have to disagree i really like the Sobremesa. i think it is a great stick especially for its price. i like the boutique brands and everything they are bringing to the table. there is something for everyone

Never understood the allure of limited runs. If you really like them, too bad cause they're limited. And if you don't, then you've just spent a bunch of money on sticks you don't really like.

My resolution for 2016 is to buy cigars from only my local B&M stores. It's good to support them if I want them to continue to stay in business, and it's way too easy to binge out on CBid for a few days and next thing you know, you've racked up a dozen or more auction wins.

most people who are really into limiteds buy more than a box. if they like em they smoke em if they don't like em they usually sell them becasue someone wants more to smoke or someone wants them and missed out on em or they buy them just to collect em without ever wanting to smoke em

Agreed here! I have somehow accumulated a lot of singles over time. I'd like to consolidate the cigar holdings a bit too.

As the resident noob here my resolution is to finish reading this forum front to back and back to front. I think I'm about halfway there and have learned volumes already. I also hope that by the end of this year to be able to repay or at least pay forward some of the unbelievable generosity I am beginning to be a part of here. And you call yourselves "Bums"...

I'd like to smoke more cigars this year, I'd also like to meet up with more Bums, and smoke more cigars with company, in general.

As far as "work" is concerned, I'd like to source some SC lumber and build some real shelves for my wineador (currently just stacks of boxes).

I've done well with really limiting my new purchases, so that shouldn't be much of an issue, and if I finish this damn wineador, I can likely get rid of at least one of my coolers- if not both.

Maybe traveling some more and meeting up with fellow Bums around the country too, as that has so far never let me down one bit :thumb:

I've never been, but one of my non-cigar related resolutions is to try new things

Also, we haven't had much yet- but I really do hate the winter cold. Snow sports are fun and all, but days and days of freezing and darkness are not my thing

Well the weather channel say's it's 49 degrees here...I'm sitting by a fire. I don't play well in the "cold". Come on down to NOLA...Mardi Gras is soon... Fair warning, prepare your liver!

The high here today was 22. Supposed to be 6 or 7 degrees tonight. Way too damn cold for a stogie for sure.

Cigar-wise, I will buy my first ever box of cigars for myself. I've only bombed them out.

I will say, that first box purchase for yourself is an awesome feeling! Mine was a box of NUB Cameroon's. I'm so glad that I don't regret my first box. That is the perfect little cigar for me. I've since bought a few others but those NUB's have been great for the quick easy relaxing smoke that you have to have as a good standby!

Yeah, that's the ticket. I did a lot of this in '15, and want to keep it up this year. I've got a pretty good handle on what I like at this point, and there are maybe 6-8 cigars I'd buy boxes of right now. Otherwise, I'm mostly over 5ers and untested LEs at this point.

Buying a tower humidor to start collecting boxes of rare cigars and more patience with aging. Smoke less and buy more basically.

I have a good stash going and hope to consolidate, as most here have said.
I have my favorites already. I just want to buy those and spread the wealth this year.

I'm surprised we haven't yet, haha

I've driven through Lancaster about 10x this year, on my way to and from other locations, but it's certainly not far off to begin with. If not sooner, definitely when it warms up - you have any good hiking/camping spots in the area?

To be honest, most of the time I'm passing through around 5am or 11:30pm, but maybe next time I'll stop and knock on the door to see if you want to burn one :stogie:
