Sunlight really bright today, shoulda added a second pair of sunglasses...don't have a wielders helmet but one would have solved the problem.
As would sleeping till after Sunset the coffee may've lent a false sense of being functional during the hours of daylight.

Trying the smaller size of the Fox Cigars HR that chain_gang dropped on me. This size is excellent and the cigar performed much better than the bigger size. Definitely would smoke this again. Thanks buddy

I bought a 5er from CI just to get the free shipping. They rated well but despite having them for maybe 2 weeks I found the cap easily cracked apart, and so badly I just peeled it to find they use a single cap. Still smoked fine I suppose.

Gotta admit, this weird flat rectangular box press on this is taking some getting used to. Feels like puffing on a Juul. That and it’s a little tough to get it to burn straight. Someone mentioned these were a bit one note and I agree but it plays that one note well.

A couple quick after though notes: this was an EXTREMELY slow burning cigar despite pulling gobs of smoke with every puff which was nice and I never felt like I was drawing in hot smoke which is probably a benefit of the box press creating more surface area to aid in keeping the ember cool.

I was surprised too. This is my first lfd but for now I just write this off as a one off problem. I have a few more so I have a couple more opportunities to give it a fair shake. This one came from a B&M so maybe it was dropped by someone before I got to it. I will say it’s a little on the bland side even for a Connecticut.

I love your set up, Alan! I have moved my patio heater down below the deck. The under deck above helps to reflect some heat, but some days with the wind it is just not enough. I’ve been looking at some clear marine vinyl to put up as wind blocks and help contain more heat.

When we moved into our new house approx. 9 years ago, I decided then to never smoke in the house. It took me several winters to get a working solution. I bought a roll of that thick plastic, and lined the entire back porch (about 6’x10) and bought a very small electric heater. Even when it would get down in the low 20s, I was able to keep it in the 60s on the porch. Then when spring comes take it down, roll it up for next year. I was VERY surprised how much heat I was able to contain, even at those temps.

It was the first time I have had the Suave tubo. It had a nice piece of cedar inside and it really complimented the blend. Its a mild LFD while it has flavor it was pretty consistent throughout. If you like LFD but find their common strength levels too high then this is a great option.

Smoked one of the "New" Perla Del Mar Corojo by J.C. Newman today and it was an excellent cigar. For the $5 price tag I would say it was incredible. Anyone else smoked one of these yet? I was very impressed!

Tabacos Baez SF. Saw some of these in a Supermarket priced around $8.40. Just my opinion, some SF cigars are smoke able, some "taste" pretty good and are not overpriced. Some SF Cubans fit that description, priced right and good tho not overly complex smokes. I tried one of Garcia's Tabacos Baez SF. Couldn't make it halfway. Zero taste, if it had 'decent' tobacco taste might've been worth the match to light it. As I recall there was another tacos Baez Series H. Most likely Habano wrapper,never managed to find any of those. I realize that tastes vary,and My take on the Tacos Baez SF. may very well be completely wrong. However if they're half as bad as the one I did try to smoke (that one may have been lying around for years in extremely bad conditions) it is hard to understand Garcia putting His brand on them. Still I'd give a Tabacos Baez series H a try but not searching for one..

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. This one was only $3 so it didn’t break my heart to give up on it after a few very underwhelming puffs. I figured it had the MF name on it so for that price it was worth a go but just rough tobacco taste. Similar to the Tat Face I had a couple weeks ago that I hated. Live and learn. That Anejo took the bad taste out of my mouth. :)

Tabacos Baez SF. Saw some of these in a Supermarket priced around $8.40. Just my opinion, some SF cigars are smoke able, some "taste" pretty good and are not overpriced. Some SF Cubans fit that description, priced right and good tho not overly complex smokes. I tried one of Garcia's Tabacos Baez SF. Couldn't make it halfway. Zero taste, if it had 'decent' tobacco taste might've been worth the match to light it. As I recall there was another tacos Baez Series H. Most likely Habano wrapper,never managed to find any of those. I realize that tastes vary,and My take on the Tacos Baez SF. may very well be completely wrong. However if they're half as bad as the one I did try to smoke (that one may have been lying around for years in extremely bad conditions) it is hard to understand Garcia putting His brand on them. Still I'd give a Tabacos Baez series H a try but not searching for one..Sorry Tombstone

How's the Founders? Sounds nice. Coffee brews usually are.It's my favorite stout. One of the few you can actually taste the coffee and chocolate powder in. Better than KBS if you ask me.

Well I'm going to have to keep an eye out for some, I'll tell you that.
I'm also partial to Rochester Mills Milkshake Stout. You ought to try it if you haven't. Pretty creamy and chocolatey and not too pricey either

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. This one was only $3 so it didn’t break my heart to give up on it after a few very underwhelming puffs. I figured it had the MF name on it so for that price it was worth a go but just rough tobacco taste. Similar to the Tat Face I had a couple weeks ago that I hated. Live and learn. That Anejo took the bad taste out of my mouth. :)

The two worst cigars that I have ever tried to smoke were treated in the same way,smoke a good one to get rid of the taste. But and it's one heckuva but. Those two were so bad that the taste didn't fade away quickly. Like a fishhook that can not be ripped out,any time memory of either of the two wakes,it's a tug on that fishhook.
The two were: #1. the highest priced Cuban I've smoked. #2 was one from Don Pepin Garcia.

How do you like them? I loved the double maduros.I'm gonna try to get a review up soon. But this stick was awesome. I think this is just a regular maduro. The shop only had two versions available - the maduro and a Ecuadorian CT shade I believe. Lots of vitolas though.

Kinda simple (not a diss), but on-point flavor-wise. Clean maduro taste. Pretty strong peppery spice. Nice leather throughout the retrohale. Dark tobacco residual coats the mouth and is very tasty. It burned pretty wonky and need a couple touch-ups and relights, so I'm gonna let them rest a bit longer. May have just been me though with the burn - was posting a LOT last night during the smoke.

Checking out a brand new lounge that serves cocktails! You wouldn’t likely guess it, but Wichita is a fine cigar town. This is a great addition. It’s a genius concept. Legally you can’t smoke in bars here, so they created a swanky cocktail bar and you can just walk to a lounge area that’s separated by a door. So new, they’re still hanging some signs. Lol. Had to go with an HVC. I’ve heard great things about this Hot Cake. It’s phenomenal. HVC is the best in the business right now.

Kyle, how are those Atabey? I don't know anything about them other than they are pricey and they are a beautiful cigar.They're great, I really enjoy them for a special smoke. They're definitely in the top 10 cigars I've ever smoked.

That being said, I've gotten them in private sale samplers. Retail price, I could probably justify spending if I couldn't get them this way. First one I smoked I was completely blown away with, maybe had more age. The ones after that were pretty darn good. Nothing compared to the first though

I’ve been thinking of a piece of 2x8 and having it cut to 1x8s then countersinking holes to use wing nuts and bolts to press it together and having something like 11/16” holes drilled down to about 6.5-7” deep, then cross cutting grooves at 3.5-3.75” and 5.5” so it gives me a nice groove to cut to length giving me the ability to make breakfast cigars, Coronas, and Lanceros from the same mold.

Well you got to tell me. How was it

I really enjoyed it. It was unique because of the deep color on the wrapper. A similar experience to a cup of unsweetened Italian espresso and the aroma was very woody. Close to some of the fire cured I’ve smoked. The draw seemed a little tight pre light but turned out to be perfect for the flavor and intensity.
