Bit of a celebration today. We quickly felt the walls closing in on us at our current home. We’d like to add a little tike to the family soon and we just can’t happily do that here, even though we love it. We got a great deal on a 1915 arts and crafts house that directly borders a giant park. It’s actually right down the street from us in the part of town we love. They just accepted our offer and we’re ecstatic. It’s definetely a fixer upper, but it’s nice and clean and livable and we will just make the updates as we can. Padron 1964 it is. Can’t remember who sent this along but thank you.

Also, for those who don’t frequent other parts of the site, we’re doing a Super Bowl squares raffle. You need not know anything about the game of football to play and it makes it a little more interesting if you’re just a casual fan. There’s a thread going now. Check it out!

How is that? I was actually just looking at these over on Small Batch, and was thinking of maybe giving them a try since they aren't super expensive. The Lonsdale or Petite Corona of the Broadleaf versions sound pretty good and that looks like one of those two.

First cigar back in the game. Five year break broken with a Fuente Natural Rothschild. Wanted something fairly easy on the palate to start with, and that'd be fairly consistent in terms of construction. Not what was in my usual wheel house back then, but still able to enjoy some dry cedar and leather and a few darker woody flavors towards the end. Definitely has me looking forward to the next cigar, whichever that may be.

I found these on Joe Cigar figuring I’d peruse the offerings, which I was unaware of. I saw these and figured you couldn’t go wrong with an AB cigar as I’ve had inexpensive cigars that smoke better than they cost, and I was not disappointed at all, in fact I’m impressed! Tho I'm not a Maduro fanatic this one reminded me of why I like the Smack. Really nice and quite long burning cigar, no need to touch up.

Tried one of the Brazil versions of Villiger last night:

This was pretty good, and the best of the three. I can say that as I tried their Classic version just a moment ago while feeding my prodigal Birdie Friend:

I'm always checking on that humidor because of the value of the contents, plus it has cedar all around which I think helped to stun the fucker before he tore up thousands of dollars worth of rare sticks. That's my baby and I shouldn't have put that thing in there to begin with, but that was the last thing I expected in the winter here in Michigan.

A nice five year old Luchador from Leccia Tobacco. Some leather and wood. The spice has mellowed quite a bit from what I remember them being freah, but its in every puff and is quite nice at its current level. Smells pretty dang great aroma wise. Draw is very loose.

While Kayla sits on her arse, I'm installing a new exhaust fan/light in the kids bathroom. I'm so jealous of Kayla right now; a 2 hour job has turned into a 2 day job because the builder blocked in the fan and its under the HVAC unit, so I can't work topside in the attic. Now I have to patch drywall, paint, etc. FML

FTN man! Do your kids really NEED to see in the bathroom? Oh dad, we can't see when we go to the bathroom at night! Princess problems man, bring a flashlight :)

A bit stout for a small smoke, but very tasty. I still think their Classic version is the best non Cuban little smoke I’ve had, just wish they still sold them by the single tin and not all ten of them.

I was really worried once I started because of how spongey the construction was, but it smoked and burned just fine. I remember enjoying it, but there was some (ok, a lot) of scotch involved. So, I'll be forced to light up another before I can deliver notes/thoughts :)

My father Friday. I think the opulence is now my favorite my father. An earth and chocolate powder bomb with very little pepper. Intense easy to pick up flavors, but smoother than my forehead. I'm also picking up the same sourdough/salty bread note I've been picking up on all the cigars that have smoked in the last 2 weeks.
