Room 101 Death Bucket from Privada Cigar Club. This is mighty spicy for being two years old. Tastes like hickory smoke and molasses. Should’ve been called Pulled Pork. Damn good. I think I’m going to like this club. And what’s great, they come totally ready to smoke. This is burning like a champ.

Started off slow. It was good, but I was thinking “What’s the fuss about.”
About 3/4 inch in it became very good! Especially on the retro Hale.

I didn’t think it was out of this world, but I think I need to smoke a few more to make up my mind. 😉

These are available as a bundle of 20. I would say they are certainly worthy of that.

Second one tonight is this Tat Black CRA. Unfortunately, I can’t remember who sent me this one. I think it’s the same blend, but just promotional. Either way, it tastes incredible. An unrepentant powerhouse of strength and flavor. Pete never disappoints. Seriously I haven’t had a bad cigar from him.

I really like that My Father is heading towards more budget friendly smokes. Between this, La Gran Oferta and Centurian, I can buy them all for $8 or less at my B&M. This is my first of these. Of course it’s great. This is nuttier than any other My Father I’ve had. Tastes like roasted peanuts.

What did you think?


I didn't get any barrel notes, supposed to be aged in Flor De Cana 18 year. But it was a solid smoke I'd like to try some other vitolas to see if it's nay different. Definitely worth at least a 5er.

Easily the most unusual cigar I’ve ever smoked. This is a blend that’s only available in a shop in Kuwait for diplomats. Got it in the Privada package. Extremely floral, with anise and coffee. This club is a blessing and curse. You get to try a lot of rare cigars, but then you likely won’t ever smoke one again. This is box-worthy.

I’m in Tacloban Leyte, a three plus hours flight from Manila. All in all twenty plus hours in the air.

Needed a vacation change of scenery, said was heading a much cooler locale. Had nuff of the Joisey heat and humidity.
Ok, it is hot and humid here.. Staying this month with family, none of I’d ever met before getting here.
Roaming around Leyte and Samar, enjoying every hour of this long overdue vacation, could really just stay here permently...but will fly back to the US fairly soon. Still trying to learn the digital camera & the iPad.
Tacloban city was destroyed by Yolanda Tsunami but has come back strong.
Haven’t seen a second of “news” on the tube or in print. Tho doing “face time’”, and that’s weird. WiFi & Netflix everywhere.

Smoked this one yesterday. It’s a mild cigar that claims to have a lot of flavor. A fellow their recommended it after I said I didn’t care for the typical tasteless mild smoke. Wow! It smokes deeper in the flavor of what I’d expect in a med-full stick. It’s a bit much in my opinion. Thinking I’ll just leave ‘em sit a while.

My yard suffered tremendously while we were gone so I had to get out and give it a good watering. As I had just finished dinner I figured a med-full smoke might work well. Holy smokes Batman! I don’t generally care much for the more robust deeper flavors you often get, especially in a full smoke, but this one was all of that but came across more refined, less intrusive and demanding. Granted I’ve not had much more than maybe a dozen med-full smokes, and those have generally cost less than $8, but this one stood out many more notches above and was the most pleasant one I’ve ever had. ¡Fantastico! I’m not sure what I paid, though I was given a drowned rat discount as it was pouring down in Key West, but according to their site these are $100 for what seems to be 10 Coronas.

I'm in Phoenix, where it was 112 today.

It's been nuclear summer since I got here a couple of weeks ago.

I only smoked one - it was a nice petit one from a Cigar Bomb, and it was late at night.

Having a charming little Brohiba tonight. It's from batch 38 which I rolled in June. CT Broadleaf wrapper, dark fire-cured binder, Brazil viso/Nicaraguan ligero/Nicaraguan viso filler. With this batch I tried to add a little more cowbell to my usual blend, in response to feedback about my previous batches. It definitely has more flavor, but with only 2.5 months or so of resting, they're not quite ready for prime time.
