Friday Noon time smoke. Luckily that bright Death Ray emitting Orb was obscured today so after a couple of cups of good hot coffee it was time to smoke on the front porch. Lit this nice Corona at 10:37 AM Thinking it'd be right about an hour-hour and ten minute smoke. As it turned out this La Palina Mr. Sam lasted all the way to 12:02 PM. First cigar smoked from an over the top Bomb from Cardinal. Thanks Tim for this excellent slow and even burning very enjoyable smoke indeed.
Burn time: See above.

Wednesday Afternoon. My Father Le Bijou Grand Robusto...563 x 55. A surprise gifted cigar. Had too look up the size before posting here, had guessed it to be "about"
5.5x54/56. That wrapper sure looked like a Maduro...tho a Habano Oscuro, anyway a dark one. Lit outdoors and finished smoking on front porch, temp on porch was 55 f and humidity 24. Not bad conditions to enjoy the cigar. Plenty of smoke from this one, a solid medium start to finish I'll say...that good doin' Pepin taste all the way.
No pix and not sure of burn time, but think it lasted round bout 70 to 75 minutes.

Excellent cigar that only gets better with time. And for a regular production smoke at a great price point, you can't go wrong. Pretty consistent too.

Wednesday was another new one to me. I had started feeling like the oddball that hadn't tried these yet, so it was time to fix that. Rott they are very enjoyable smokes, nice flavor profile and a solid medium body. I will be getting more of these.

Roma Intemperance BA. Haven’t had one of these in awhile. So much flavor.

I’m also thankful that Wichita has a great cigar bar with a heated patio. This is my Thursday ritual. Don’t know what I’d do without it...

Hope you enjoyed it!! Just absent not lost. Health and work issues the past year but am doing well now.

I guess its time to get back into the things I really enjoy. I will try not to be such a stranger. Also looking forward to the Orgy.

Glad to see you back Steve and I hope all is well with you. I did enjoy the smoke, don't usually associate AJ with a mild smoke. Someone was talking about rugby the other day and I didn't feel like a complete idiot thanks to your instruction but no one out there believes you can only hit the man with a ball !

Sunday Evening. Vegas Cubanas Corona...55x44. One of my choice cigar sizes has been the 5.63x46, but this slightly smaller cigar gives nothing away in terms of flavour to that 'other" Corona. Nothing at all wrong with the now more popular larger ring sizes, but a 6x44 or a 7x47 can deliver a whole lot of smoking pleasure.
While putting less strain on the supporting hand and wrist of the smoker.
No sense in risking injuries if you're planing to attend,particip[ate/perform at the upcoming Cigarfest & Orgy.

Don't often see these being smoked here on Cigarbum, but they're a good smoke and not one that you have to search far and wide to find.
Maybe it's just that they've 'always' been around, if so some guys are missing out on a good reliable smoke at a decent price.

Thursday I had another new one to me. I have tried their Sun Grown and Black Markets and thought why not. All in all not a bad stick, good construction, solid medium body and nice flavor profile.

Friday. My Father Le bijou 1922 Box Pressed Torpedo...6.1x52. Figured it was about time to try smoking something from Don. Pepin Garcia/ My. Father's cigars.
Easy light, even burn line, no need to relight or touch up, nice retrohale plus favourful, good smoke out put, long burning.
Yup, glad I gave this brand a try.

Burn time: Two Hours.

Capping off a lovely Saturday with a Brohiba batch 37. This is an experimental batch with Dark Air binder, CT Broadleaf wrapper, and cigar/pipe tobacco scraps for filler. It's not bad but not great, pretty much like the commercial "mixed fillers," about what you'd expect from such a tobacco salad.

Saturday 29 Dec. Esteban Carreras Mr. Brownstone Toro Grande Maduro...6x52. The first Mr. Brownstone in Maduro for me. Enjoyed smoking the same size Mr. Brownstone in Natural. Unsure I'd like the Maduro version as much. the Cigar.Well made, solid heavy feel. Easy clean cut and light. Once lit spice plus pepper the level dropping after a minute or two, then steady the rest of the way. Medium to Med~Full, lots of smoke. Very solid white ash. One of the longest burning cigars other than Churchills or larger sizes I've smoked.

The pix is of the Mr. Brownstone Toro in Natural. Don't have a pix of the Maduro, which has black rather than brown bands & ribbon.

Almost unreal burn time. Three Hours and Eight Minutes.

Glad you like them as well Tony. Jesse told me about the 601 Blue Labels when I was just branching out into the world of cigars. I figured the maduros are good, so lets try the Oscuro. They are really good, I might even say as good if not a tad better then the Blues.

For Saturday I had a Diesel Whiskey Row, these are getting better with each passing week.

Monday 31 Dec Afternoon smoke. Cruzado...7x47. Smoked this cigar courtesy of a Bomb from Cardinal on this rainy last day of 2018.
Did not check but think this was really a 48 ring gauge, nice even burn, no touch-up or relight needed. Didn't pick up on a lot of flavour changes, but never do any way, may notice some but very rarely can I put a name to a flavour...anyway a nice long burning cigar, thanks much Tim for sending this my way.

Burn time, One hour and Thirty One Minutes.

Not actually the first smoke of the New Year, this is the first cigar enjoyed post Sunrise today 01 January 2019. One of my favourites from the Master B...Blender...what did you think I meant? Your know a Cigarbum would never express any other than admiration for Don Pepin Garcia or of a My Fathers cigar.
Quite decent weather today, hopefully Spring will arrive on the morrow. That would be more welcome than a Marrowbone.
Or a box Pressed (square) Marleybone Corona smoked at Marble Arch on a bright Morning accompanied by a few pints of Bitter.

Burn time: One Hour and Eleven Minutes.

The black IPA, a bit early, had a noticeable amount of roast, which it wasn’t supposed to have (and finally melded away). Tried it with a Nica Libre, and the smoke didn’t detract from the hoppiness. Nice!

Thursday Afternoon. Esteban Carreras Mr. Brownstone Churchill...7x49. First of these with the Habano (Natural) wrapper at this size. Enjoyed smoking smaller sizes in the past and think they're blended, constructed well so the smoking experience is much the same, the larger size just makes for a longer smoke. For me both the Maduro and the Habano wrappers deliver. No pix, yet.

Almost started to smoke a Pinar Del Rio cheapie on the way home from the hyena circus, BUT
then I remembered I drove Mrs. Bruck's car in as she needed the truck to pick up some cabinets and other sundries for our kitchen project, and Mrs. Bruck doesn't like cigar smoke in her car. Dang.
So I saved it and just tried to smoke it here on the back deck enjoying a rare silent evening with the neighbor's yappy dog not yapping.
But it fell apart and leaked, so I tossed it into the ivy in the back yard. Let the deer have a chew on it.
& I got a Graycliff Original Red out of humidor #4, handmade by the late father of a friend.
Enjoying it immensely :)

Update: no sooner did I hit enter than the yappy dog started up :(

Started it while cleaning firearms this p.m. The important point here is, if you're cleaning guns, don't smoke anything good, cuz you aren't going to taste it anyway. Done with the solvent-related chores, now finishing it on the back deck. Sense of smell has returned :)

First cigars in about 2 weeks since I have been sick. I don't think I've gone this long without a cigar in YEARS. Side note, I had not realized how terrible cigars made my breath until I went 2 weeks without one. I now feel very sorry for my husband.

Friday I received my order from CI and hastily opened all of the packages and dumped them into my tuppador not realizing instead of the pack of 5 boxes of Nat Sherman Point Five Maduros were instead the Metropolitan cigarillos. So I checked my order and saw I didn’t mistakenly order the wrong thing. I then looked up the Metropolitans and saw they were still a Maduro and medium strength. So I pulled a smoke and headed to the garage with my phone to call about it and see if maybe I’d be happy enough with what I was sent instead, which I wasn’t. A very mild almost flavorless smoke (for the first half). But the woman I was talking with argued with me that these were indeed the Point Fives I ordered despite me explaining that I’m rather familiar with the Point Fives. Fortunately I was disconnected and had to call back and spoke with Natalie who was both nice and more diligent as she not just looked at the shipping order, but my actual online order where it clearly states I wanted the Point Fives. So I will be getting the proper smokes shortly along with a return shipping slip.

For a Maduro this sure seemed lacking in the first half but built up character abruptly around the halfway point and became pleasant.

I would say, yes, that is the case. In fact, I have a fiver now that's been lying around for I think three years or so. When I had my home, though better than the average yard 'gar, I found it a good smoke for doing stuff outside as it is built tough, leathery and can get pretty juicy. Can say the same for the Latitude Zero. Now, upon your mention, I'm itching to take one out while on a "dog walk". Or at the driving range, maybe. We'll see. Thanks.

Noon today. Esteban Carreras Mr. Brownstone Churchill Habano...7x49. Time for larger cigar and hopefully it'll be a long and good time.
Like the way these two cigars are dressed so that a only a Quick glance and the wrapper is identified as either Maduro or Natural.
Not only are the bands either Black or Brown but even the " background shade" of the main band varies as does the colour of the 'Onion skin' tissue band which cloaks a goodly portion of the cigar.

Graphic eh? Well, if that's what you want.... I gently toasted the foot and greedily took my initial puff, lightly skimming my tongue along the lower edge of the cap, tasting a rich, salty essence exuding from the tip of the thick cigar, then I more forcefully sucked, pulling plenty of flavorful, white smoke deep into my mouth. :)

But seriously, it was great. I usually smoke the Lonsdales which, in my opinion create more smoke, but the draw on this wasn't bad at all, lots of smoke, good, even burn. I noticed more of the earthiness and less cocoa on this size than the lonsdale. I haven't tried the new version as of yet, it's been out of stock everywhere I check.
