Rancho Luna maduro in a toro, got this from local B&M turns out to be from father and brother of Christian Eiorra ( spelling ?) JRE Tobacco . draw, construction and burn all excellent. a good solid smoke with nice flavor

This afternoon I had a 7X52 Cuban Crafters Cabinet Cigar.:stogie: This cigar has been resting in my 65% rh humidor since 9-2-2012 and I have not smoked this cigar for more than two years. After lighting, this cigar gave me leather, spice and a delicious chocolate; the abundant and delicious flavors surprised me. The construction of this cigar was very good with no difficult veins, non correcting burn, and a draw that was a little on the loose side which was great for me. I prefer to sip my cigars.:leprechaun: After smoking this stick, I realize that this cigar was special and I took another look at it. This was a beautiful brown box pressed cigar with a curly head which was aged three years before shipping; it contained long fillers and was hand made in the old Cuban style. I looked at my notes on this cigar from 2012 and I definitely liked this cigar but I can now understand and appreciate the quality of this cigar compared to others. I now understand some of the things that you guys appreciate about your Cuban cigars.:wave: I topped off this cigar with a large hot cup of coffee and I had a wonderful afternoon.:santa:

Late Night Thursday ~ Early Friday Morning. Flor De Las Antillas Robusto...5x50. first one was good, so just had to burn another. Tho the Corona size is often my first choice have to say this Robusto's larger Ring Gauge smokes well, can't knock the box press either, yeah it's pretty sharp, but not overly so, that is the four sides are not concave. The image, does make the box press look a bit more square than the reality. Anyway, I do sort of like smokes from Pepin Garcia & Co.

Had my last of these Saturday early evening with some hot coffee and of course some '73 Dead playing. I had been on the fence with these since getting them, didn't hate them, but found them a bit "green" and harsh at times. I decided to let the last one rest a while to see if I felt differently about them. With nearly 8 months on this one, the harshness was not present and it had a much better flavor profile. Might give them a try again at some point but only after some extended humi rest.

She then asked me if all of my cigar and pipe people have nice coffee cups?:mope: And I sadly told her that every body seems to have nice looking coffee cups. My wife has been trying for ages to get me to replace my old worn coffee cups with nice looking ones. I explained to her that we only have old time flip cell phones that don't take pictures for the cigar site, but I did take a good look at my coffee cups and they did look a little shabby.:idunno: I did agree to purchase new coffee cups, but I will be the one to make the choice; delighted, she is now looking at the Amazon site on the other computer for coffee cups. Dang-it Bob it is hard enough to "live up to the Jone's" but now I have to "live up to the Bob's".:popcorn:

I got it in the gift bag at the Buffalo CigarFest so I didn't choose it or buy it. It was actually pretty decent right up until, ironically, the final third and then it got a little harsh. It looked to me like it had been sitting around a while and I figured that's why it was in the bag.

I've been without cell service since Saturday morning, camping first down in the canyon at Palo Duro State Park, and yesterday we moved over to Caprock Canyon.

Too cold to sit out at night and smoke on Saturday and Sunday, but the last few nights have been awesome.

Monday My Father Special S, event only cigar. I think I sent one of these to allusred a couple years ago but I never smoked one until now. Pretty good but didnt blow my mind.

Tuesday LP L40. Honestly never was a gigantic fan of the LPs, but man this was tremendous. Best retrohale ever, so smooth. I've got to dig through my old posts to see who sent this to me.

Last night was a Las Calaveras from 2016, also excellent if not quite as transcendent as the L40. Again I've lost track of who gave it to me, but thanks!

Last pic is me and Girl at the top of a little bluff we climbed. She must be half monkey, just wants to climb all the time. Great trip so far.

This afternoon I had a 5X54 Sons of Anarchy Robusto by Black Crown.:stogie: I decided to dig through some of my old stash for a smoke and came across three of these cigars that I had forgotten about. This cigar has been resting in my old igloo ice chest; way at the bottom corner for three years. I was not sure that I would like this cigar and had a Padron waiting in case I decided to dump this smoke.:hung: After lighting this cigar I got some wood, leather spice and a nice touch of sweetness. The construction of this cigar was interesting with a nice even burn, no difficult veins, excellent draw but with two occasions of minor tunneling. I had to relight this cigar twice, but the flavors were so delicious and the smoke output was great.:thumb: This cigar was medium to full and remained cool to the very end. This cigar is rather inexpensive, but the flavor output was amazing. I topped off this smoke with a large cup of hot coffee and happily put my waiting Padron back in the humidor.:popcorn:

Had a Pinar Del Rio Sungrown on the way home from the Turkish prison today. I picked up a ten-pack of these recently and I won't be getting them again. The burn is terrible, uneven and requiring constant relights, and they make my mustache smell like an ashtray. Flavor is okay but nothing I'd take a break from rearranging furniture to get more of.

Flawless draw and construction, crazy complex and very spicy. Highly recommend. Apparently these are supposed to be really expensive?? I think I got two singles on CBid for no more than $5. I’d pay $15 for this. Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers continues to amaze me.

While I’ve enjoyed the Man O War cigars I’ve smoked to date, I’ve always put them in the “good budget smokes” category. But this Armada is blowing my mind. Flawless draw and construction, crazy complex and very spicy. Highly recommend. Apparently these are supposed to be really expensive?? I think I got two singles on CBid for no more than $5. I’d pay $15 for this. Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers continues to amaze me.

I've always liked the Sumatra wrapper...and it seems to me that the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers have gotten better lately.

Thursday's smoke. Vegas Cubanas Corona...5.5x44. After eight day without a single *real* cigar to burn, trying to survive with some skinny little old small, really small cigars that had lain around too long, at last got a box of good ones. Long slow smoke, much appreciated and enjoyed.

Burn time...ROTT. One Hour and Fifty Four Minutes. Has to be a personal record for a cigar this size, happy that Don Pepin Garcia brought this brand back.

La Gloria Cubana last night, was too dark for photo sorry. My old boss gave it to me since he quit smoking a while back. He told me it'd been in his humidor for about 5 years so I lit up but really thought it would be a dried out shell.

Saturday Evening. Vegas Cubanas Corona...5.5x44. Smoked while watching the Fury vs Wilder fight. After a feast during the Pre lims, great win for Luis Ortiz by the way, enjoyed this Don Pepin Garcia beauty along with some excellent hot black coffee while the two best Heavyweights went at it. A helluva fight.
The pre light smell from this cigar was of a freshly rolled barnyard special, you could grow crops in that rich smell. Ligh burn,retrohale,smoke output were all spot on.

Wednesday Afternoon. Vegas Cubanas Corona...5.5x44. three cups of hot coffee and awake enuff to light up and enjoy this cigar from Don Pepin Garcia.
Too cold to smoke on front porch so burnt whilst reading a couple of Jonathan Carroll's stories. Carroll has a number of fans here, in and around Spring lake, but I've never managed to find any of them despite my surety that they'd be easy to recognize given how weird his books & short stories are.
'Speaking' of weird even the straw pile lurking green skinned Zombies were missing this Halloween, have to think that even they stayed glued to their cell phones this year.

Well, not quite. Have had one of the Vegas Cubanas burn for an hour and thirty three minutes and many for just a little under the hour and a half mark.
Oddly I've had some quite small cigars burn as long or longer than as a Toro or Churchill. Think most times my "puffing time" is pretty even, so long as I'm
able to smoke without interruption.
