What did you smoke today (NC) II

I put these down almost two years ago in a jar humidor with boveda and a cedar plank. Was going through my humidor burping routine and figured "why not?"

Color me surprised- I'm early into as I post this but it has a hint of that allspice/clove thing going on and I'm really enjoying it.

At a conference in Olathe, KS. The conference center is beautiful with a great bar, but no heated patio. Walked across the street and was rewarded with a fire pit all to myself. You’ll find me here tomorrow night, too. Promise.

Verdict?Very good. Just up my alley for flavors, bold pepper, chocolate, a little nutty (just like me) and very creamy smoke. I paired it with an Appleton estate 12 (because I had a guest), so I couldn't really get any light flavor notes to truly review it. I got 3 more, so I'll try another one with just water tomorrow or Sunday.

Think so. It was bombed to me by a brother on elsewhere and I think he got it this year as he was a Noob Sampler guy of mine.

Finally got to it last night @solcalgunner, but unfortunately this didn't perform at all like the last one. Tight draw (fixed after 4 perfect cuts), very woodsy with a dry almond twist, and a nice dose of sourdough dominating the 2/3. Yep, didn’t take long at all before I decided to dig into the recent “Everyday Cigar MAW” which was gifted by the always generous and awesome SoCal gunner

Sobremesa first up to meet the flames. Wow guuuud! And yes TJ the box prices I’ve seen for these beauties is quite high but, with only an inch smoked of this cigar I’d have to say it’s worth it!

There I sat about to snuff it out and make an excuse to leave. Then the Nasty Black Pepper Bomb subsided and this amazing complex cigar opened up. Seriously, not exaggerating - never have I had such an ever changing cigar at this price range. Leather, cedar, a smooth creamy sweetness to name a few.

Now I cant wait for you to smoke one and compare notes!

Don't know if you know, but Espinosa is the blender. Really like his Larañja. Can only imagine what he did with the Oscuro wrapper and the fillers he used.
Now I'm looking forward to smoking the one I have.

Thursday Afternoon cigar. Unbanded Hondurian,gifted cigar...about 6x48. Fairly firm, couple of soft spots, odd looking flatish cap, cut easily , no unraveling.
Easy light,fairly even burn,nice steady,long burn...until about the last inch some taste medicinal...not a good Mushroom so ...ended there.

How’d ya like the SD 300 hands down?

It is, so far, my least favorite of the Southern Draw lines, however, considering how much I LOVE SD, that isn't really a dig. It was good, especially considering the price. Just a little lacking in depth in the flavor profile. Good burn, great draw.

The Wasabi isn't spicy at all in my opinion. I know it is being marketed as a black pepper bomb but I get absolutely none. I find it to be an enjoyable mild stick

Having an experimental cigar - last time I rolled a batch of "real" Brohibas, I made a few with scrap/cuttings for filler. It's not too bad, no real discernable flavors though, and little bits of tobacco keep coming off in my mouth. I'll have to work on technique :)

I thought it was stronger than the Tennessee Waltz but a good smoke. Maybe that's just biased because Drew Estate's name is attached to it ?
Planning on seeing how some age affects them before I look at giving it a true thumbs up and grabbing some more.

There's still signs of her being murdered but I'm trying to cope with it as there's still feathers about. El Gato Negro must pay a price soon so I can have closeure. I may try to return to the site of the murder and finally enjoy a cigar soon, but the blues have been heavy on my soul.....

It was prolly a coon. You can get a Duke dog proof trap pretty cheap, then you can get some revenge!
If it was really a stray cat you'll probably have to bust out the 12 gauge... unless you have a live trap and some cheap sardines.
Buck up little camper, a new chick will only set you back a couple bucks at the local farm store this spring :p

Well I finally made it out back. I just had the blues going out back at the scene of the murder of my pet chicken. There's still signs of her being murdered but I'm trying to cope with it as there's still feathers about. El Gato Negro must pay a price soon so I can have closeure. I may try to return to the site of the murder and finally enjoy a cigar soon, but the blues have been heavy on my soul.....

No! I am so sorry David. The same thing happened with my pet duck when I was a little girl. I found her half-eaten body down by the lake. It is bad enough to lose a pet to old age or illness, but to lose them to an act of predation is horrible. I hope it gets better!

Sick again for a couple of days. This cold sucks, but the doctor prescribed this suppository. I decided to smoke it instead.

Thursday. Flor De Las Antillas Robusto...5x50. Think this may well be my first time for the box Pressed Robusto, Know I've smoked some of the Toro size.
Quite nice, easy light, sharp burn line, no need to touch up or relight, real nice retrohale, by the way the "box code" on these is 11 September 2018, so already extensively aged.Smoked this one eight minutes after getting and opening the box and happy to find that they've aged well, still having some flavour.

Burn time. One Hour and Elrven Minutes.
