After a miserable 48 hours of moving, I’m enjoying (IMO) AB’s finest blend on my new deck. This is the Maduro. So complex. I deserve it after taking apart a giant refrigerator, moving it through a tiny kitchen door frame, and putting it back together without any leftover screws. Except for the one that’s loose in my head. To all you fathers, happy day.

At the request of Brimy I smoked this first.

Thoughts: sourdough, chocolate and a citrusy retro on the first inch. Very light on the favors, but smooth. 2/3 cocoa pretty much went away, but sourdough intensified. A little salty yet long finish and an old library book retro (how's that for a flavor) with a hint of oak. 3/3 sourdough has died down and in it's place a cedar note took over, with a light pepper in the retro. The finish is still very long and a bit minty.

Coyol and then a Diesel Unlimited Maduro. Beautiful, mild weather in the plains. Weller always helps. I know I’m like 10 years late to the party, but these Diesels continue to blow me way. They taste like hot chocolate. I can get these for $2-3 on CBid. Ridiculous.

before moving on to a more powerful and/or larger cigar later in the day is the way to go.

Last night's smoke La Barba, can't upload the picture for some reason. Not what I was expecting, but it also got interrupted by a 4 hours trip to the ER. At first it reminded me of a more lathery LGC series R, but when I re-lit it tasted like lather and bunfire. Going to have to give it another try, but I think these need to nap for a while.

Yesterday I had a light late lunch before mowing and figured everything would be fine, but feel maybe my nicotine tolerance is low not having smoked significant smokes in a while. And so maybe the the fella who sold me cigar from yesterday wasn’t necessarily giving me something too strong as this med-full Churchill began to be a bit much with about 2” left.

It did me pretty badly yesterday to where I didn’t even want my last half of my third beer and barely stomached one of my three tacos for dinner! Had me nauseated pretty bad making me wonder if I’d even finish that one taco.

But I have a bad habit of coffee for breakfast and breakfast for lunch...

I must say I’ve had better cheaper cigars than this one though.

Las Calaveras LC46 2015. I had forgotten about these and noticed this one hiding. I smoked one of these upon release and remember it tasting bitter. 3 years has improved them greatly.

Absolutely! Very difficult from his other blends in a good way. Almost reminds me of the La Palina Black. Theres a molasses like sweetness with minimal spice tasty indeed

I'm a big Graycliff fan - a few years ago I toured their (very small) factory and took in a cigar rolling lesson, which got me started in that little sub-hobby.

OTOH, they're generally overpriced - gotta watch for the sales. & don't get their "Turbo" or "G2" blends - they're pretty spotty.

This one was okay, but kind of spotty at times. It burned evenly but didn't have much flavor until the second half. I'd never smoked a cigar from the Bahamas that I know of.

I've had one or two red dot Cohibas over the years and don't really enjoy them. I haven't had one yet, but I have heard that the blue dots are better.

It was a disappointment. Never did burn right and kept going out. Didn't draw good when it was lit. The flavor was substandard - tasted kind of green or undercured.

Had to try one of those J.C. Newman #49 cigars I picked up the other day. It started with a little mild flavor that was nice was quickly become like breathing air. Figured I’d see if it worked with an IPA as it seems most cigars taint the hop flavor. Seems it was the one redeeming quality other than being purchased at a real bargain price.
